Topic: The Last Of Us Part II - OT (No Spoilers)

Couldn't find an existing thread, so thought i would set one up. There is one not locked, but that is a dude asking if the game is coming out December 2018 lol.

Feel free to discuss the game here. Please no spoilers, at least for the first few weeks.

@nessisonett They are not unfortunately. The worst of them is even in the beginning. I loved TLOU 1 but 2 does not make you care for the characters. At least they make a nice gory effects.

Played the first 80 minutes this morning. Worth getting up early for .
I've not read any of the leaks, or reviews, so going in pretty much blind.
First one is one of my all time favourite games.
I'll in case my thoughts it spoiler tags as I play, but if anyone would prefer I don't post them at all. Just let me know.

Opening cutscenes. Man my heart breaks for Joel. When they were both out in the world alone, Ellie needed Joel, as much as he needed her. But now they are back in the 'real' world, Ellie obviously doesn't need him so much anymore. Along with the tension of the lies between them. I can only see one way Joel's going to find the peace he needs.
Ooh, new playable character, didn't see that one coming. I kind of like the way she plays, it's different to Ellie. She's after someone in Jackson, but who?
On Patrol with Dina and Ellie now, the gameplay is still so good.

Waiting for the post to bring me my copy. Being aware of the spoilers I'm sure I'll share some thoughts once I've experienced them for myself further down the line. While they did dampen my excitement for the game a bit I'm still eager to play it. It will be interesting to see everyone's opinions.

@Zuljaras I'm not sure about that, even early on in the game I already feel a connection to some of the characters. Just shows the strength in the quality of writing here. I've not seen any of the spoilers/leaks or played much of the game. How far have you got?

@phil_j That is fine by me, you've clearly marked at what point in the game you are commenting on and spoiler tagged it all. If anyone clicks onto that it is their own fault!

@JohnnyShoulder I am watching it on YT as the gameplay is not that important for me. The story is. I felt that by playing the first one.

I am just sat here and hoping my preorder arrives. It was despatched early yesterday but post is a bit screwy here.

I want it to get here early so I can get it installed and then play tonight. I have a horrid feeling I chose badly for my pre-order company.

Who did you use for future reference? I did have it pre-ordered at the game collection, but cancelled it, and bought it digitally, as using the shopto psn vouchers it's basically the same price.

@Thrillho Sony studios seem just as good at creating awesome gifs as they are at making games.

Just a question: anyone having problem with audio? I usually play other games via tv speakers volume set at 20 or with headphones at 40, but the game sounds bad on tv and is ok with headphones set at 100! Tried different in-game audio settings, but still haven't find a good solution...

@Octane I've already redeemed my code and the game hasn't even arrived yet. I'll take any advantage I can get.

@BearsEatBeets lol, that was kinda my thinking, but at the same time I don't want to give myself too much of an advantage.

@Octane Hardcore fans of the first one probably just being pissed it does everything in it's way to destroy what was great about the first one? Not everyone with a different opinion is a troll you know?

@Scollurio I haven't played the game, but two things to consider:
1. Have they had enough time to finish the game already? Probably not, most of them haven't even played it.
2. Even if the story is terrible, I really doubt I'd score it a 0/10. The game has to be practically unplayable for me to give it such a low score. If the gameplay is just as good as in the first game, I don't see how it can be that bad.

@Scollurio Yeah tha is not a good enough reason to give a game a low score.

@BearsEatBeets It will be interesting to read your take on the game having seen the spoilers.

@Octane Yeah I've redeemed it to. But not actually had the opportunity to use it so far.

@andreoni79 I've been playing with headphones on and it seems ok.
