@Rudy_Manchego Cool. Makes life much easier stealth killing all the goons as it means you will have all your health for the boss. Take out (not for a meal or anything) the guy on the roof who bangs the drum, so he doesn't alert the others.

I quite like that AI can sometimes be a bit old skool, in that they go back to their programmed routes if they lose sight of you. Makes thing a bit more bearable.

Killed the drunk. 2nd attempt. He has poison attacks sometimes so I just kept dodging him to his right or left and got in 2 or three hits. Rinse n repeat. Easiest boss so far for me.

@Quintumply Cheers! Clearing the group of enemies around him is essential.

Stuck on Lady Butterfly at the mo. Reminds me of Lady Maria from Bloodborne, and not just in name lol. I know what to do but the margin of error is extremely tight. In typical From fashion, there seems to be a couple of methods to take her on. Only got to her 2nd stage once.

Decided to take a break from her so I could buy the upgrade from the peddler merchant, which costs 3000 coin. So I got that and the spear attachment, now I'm ready to take her on again!

The area after the burning bull packs in quite a few groups of enemies and in tighter spaces than previously, and a new type of enemy which certianky keeps things interesting!

@JohnnyShoulder Good luck, she’s a tough cookie.

I very nearly beat Guardian Ape on my second attempt, but got caught out by the attack that induces Terror. I should be able to take him down in the next couple of goes. Very cool boss!

@Quintumply She sure is, I've given up for now to crack on with the main game.

I defeated one spear wielding mini boss and had a snoop through the Abadoned Dungeons. I think i made it to the boss or mini boss but I didn't fancy taking it on yet as i wanted to spend my coin on upgrading my prosthetic arm. The enemies drop anti-fear stuff, so I assume that is the boss for the area? I didn make through to another area, which looked a bit different. I experienced my first lift in this game. From do like a good mechinal lift. Quite colourful, but the standard enemies seemed a bit to quick and powerful for me at the mo. Doable but not when there were groups of em. Probably go back to the castle and see what is there.

So I have put Sekiro on the backburned for now as I am going away for a bit and taking the Switch and Hyrule warriors with me.

I managed to do the General on the horsie after 8 or 9 tries but boy oh boy do I still suck at parrying. I think got my arse handed to me twice by the burining bull thing so thought it was a good place to stop.

Not really enjoying the bosses as much as Bloodborne, again because I suck at parrying but oddly, I loooove the normal gameplay with sneak and one on one combat. Weird.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

Enjoying it, interesting playing one of these games without the online elements. No co-op.. no invaders, it works well, I can see why they made that choice. Put quite a few hours in and just got to a mega boss, pretty tough, fingers crossed will break through eventually.

@kyleforrester87 Yeah I found him really easy. The next boss is something else though. Even cheesing her is really difficult.

I beat one mini boss earlier. Not sure if the devs are trolling but man the camera struggled with that little area. If anyone remembers the Capra Demon from the first Dark Souls, it reminded me of that. I think I also sent one npc off to his doom lol.

@LieutenantFatman Glad you are enjoying it! Where are you at in the game?

@JohnnyShoulder

Just at the part with all the pink smoke on the roof tops where the trail ends.

the first two parts of this boss aren't too bad, but it's a struggle after that

I reckon I've defeated all optional bosses up to this point but it's hard to know for certain.

Edit: although I never did bother with the headless enemy early on.

@LieutenantFatman I think that is same place I'm at. The same guy that 'kills' you after the tutorial level? I struggles to even get past his first stage last night, I always go off and explore and then come back a bit later. The game opens up when you get to the castle, there are a few directions you could head.

The Abandoned Dungeons has a well wierd boss! But I'm currently exploring Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo. It is quite pretty, very Autumnal. The main enemies are not that difficult but they tend to travel in groups.

Totally forgot about the Headless, I could never work out how to get to him. I will have another try tonight.

@JohnnyShoulder Yep, we're at the same place! Although I don't think I've come across the dungeon you speak of yet so I might have to check that out first, thanks!

@LieutenantFatman I've done a lot of wandering off the beaten track, usually when I'm stuck on a boss fight. This is why it usually takes me yonks to get anywhere in games.

Just fought a headless. That was weird and a bit spooky.

The chasing slice ability is a bit of a game changer. Loving the shuriken to be honest,
and you can link some cool combos with with this ability. Great way to disrupt a big attack, then move in for a few stabs.

@kyleforrester87 Yeah loving the combat. Feels so fluid. I always forget about the extra moves in the heat of the moment!

Have you made much progress?

@JohnnyShoulder I'm up to Lady Butterfly, I only had one go then carried on with the "main area" - I beat the bull and the next mini boss at the top of the stairs, upgraded my health and posture again and got another seed for my magic flask (5 now) - I reckon this'll give me a good leg up on Lady Butterfly. The combat really gelled with me a bit more yesterday, I was blocking a lot but still relying on dodge and jump too much. It's like 90% blocking really and jumping toward the enemy when they do those nasty swipes, not away. Plus as mentioned the chasing slice lets you disrupt a big attack and close distance easily for a follow up.

@kyleforrester87 yead deflecting attacks is key as this will whittle down the posture bar of enemies.
