Topic: PS4 Pro and standard HDD swap

Hi all. I have a standard PS4 with a 2TB SSHD. It has approx. 850GB of games installed. I have recently purchased a PS4 Pro and would like to know if I can swap the HDD from the standard PS4 to the Pro without issue? I would then refit the Pro's 1TB drive to the standard PS4 but understand this will need the software etc.

Basically the Pro is for home and the standard relegated to my work room away. What is the order of software backing up, updating etc that I need to do to prioritise the new Pro at home with 2TB and the work one with 1TB? Help appreciated.

@Cohenpol As soon as you put the 'old' HDD into the PS4 Pro, it will reformat and you will have to reinstall the games as well as the OS. Each HDD is 'locked' to a specific console and if you are putting it into a 'different' console, it needs to be reformatted and set up for that console - at least that was the case when it launched.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
