@Z390 New PS4 Slim price is still about £260 - IF you can find one. As for a new Pro? Looking well in excess of the PS5 RRP!
We got a used, boxed PS4 Pro from CEX for my son at Christmas (couldn't find a new one for love nor money) Externally it was in A1 condition and all was well until he started playing on F1 2020 and 2021 and the fan went into turbo-nutter mode. I know some people have said about the jump-jet take off loudness but I'd never heard it (mine's very quiet even at 4 years old) until he started with those games in particular. I can only assume it'd had a hard life and have since taken it in to our local PC repair shop where, for £45, they disassembled it, cleaned out all the innards and reapplied new, better thermal paste . We now have 2 almost silent PS4 Pros in the house!

Neither do prices. If anything, Sony should be happy to keep selling a console at the same price it was sold when released, instead of trying to bleed the fanbase out.
@avatarian We are discussing secondhand prices of (in the PS4 pros case) A retro console that is no longer manufactured. Sony doesn’t really have any impact other than their inability to manufacture enough PS5 to satisfy the market. The slims price hasn’t changed new if you can find one.
