I'm surprised there's not already a thread for this....
What do you guys think about the new Killzone? I already have it preordered and it looks great, but I'm really worried it's not going to feel like Killzone. From what I've seen, you're flying solo, which is a HUGE step back in my opinion, though it remains to be seen how they actually deal with it. The interaction with the team and feeling like you're actually a small part of a platoon is part of what made Killzone unique over the other one-man-army kind of games. I have no doubt it's going to be amazing, but I worry it's not going to be Killzone.
My jaw dropped when I saw the game first in Feb. Looks amazing and I have it on preorder together with my PS4. I love the look and design of the game. Since This will be the first Killzone I'll play, I can't comment on the change of focus from squad to single dude, but what I saw so far looks good, gameplay-wise.
I often read that Killzone games have a "heavy feel" to their guns...curious how that will play out in Shadow Fall.
Killzone 2 is one of my favorite FPS this gen and I really enjoyed Killzone 3 as well but I welcome the changes being made. Particularly the more open 'sandbox' feel to the levels.
Yeah, the more I read about this game it just looks like they threw away everything Killzone about it. I don't know, though, maybe people thought the same about Killzone 3. I came into the game late. I bought the trilogy right after it came out after playing the Killzone 3 demo a few years ago. 3 is my favorite one and that's a lot different from the first one. They streamlined everything and they might as well have given you unlimited ammo because there were ammo boxes EVERYWHERE. I really hope they do keep the "heavy" feel of the guns because I hate when you can just run everywhere and spray your gun all over the place like it's a water hose
Ive been with Killzone since the Very beginning. I was a member of the original Killzone forums and spent a couple of years prior to release discussing numerous topics and scouring the internet for information. I even wrote an article on killzone for my college newsletter. Boy was I hyped back then Killzone still turned out good for me. A little buggy but it had potential. Killzone 2 unlocked that for me. When I first seen it (post target render) it blew me away. At the time I had a 360 still and | was waiting for something to makeme get a Ps3. Killzone 2 was it. You could say it was a gamechanger as Killzone 2 to me was the first time id seen a game that had me beleiving the Cell hype as nothing on 360 could touch it. Bought a Ps3, bought Killzone 2, Loved it. The 32 player battles online were another highlight of the game for me. Now Killzone 3 is one that devides opinion. I actually preferred it to 2. It seemed better paced and the graphics raised the bar yet again (Still the best looking FPS this generation for me) I even liked the story and the cutscenes were fantastic. 3D was a bit iffy but I still enjoyed that too. The best in the series to date? Maybe. Oh n no, I havent forgot Killzone Liberation. Couldn't wait to play that on PsP. A lot different to rest of the series but a damn good game nontheless.
As for Killzone Shadow Fall. To be honest Im mainly looking forward to the story and setting. Bringing it back to Vekta with a cold-war style devide in the city is fascinating. I think gameplay wise Killzone is there, now if Shadow Fall can nailits story (although 3 wasnt bad) then Killzone can finally realise its potential as one of Sonys elite killer-apps. From the looks of things so far, Its looking to be the case
Loved 2, liked 3. It'll be a shame if the weighty feel is gone, it gave a really nice 'real' feel of a weighed down soldier. It's translated to Killzone Mercenary very well. I'm looking forward to Shadow Fall, the demo gameplay looks great fun.

Anyone read the First impressions Push Square did? They said that the game actually feels even heavier than usual. Don't know where the speculation of it's removal has come from.
I think it looks amazing and I have it on pre-order with my PS4. I can't wait to play it. I do play mutiplayer games but I probably don't play mutiplayer online as often as I should on the PS3 but on the PS4 I plan on being way more active online. So, feel free to add me as a friend, tgraves82.
