I know ND already said before that they thought about making this but decided not too, but I came across this article that shows some concept art that looks like J&D and was only posted about 2 weeks ago named for an "unannounced project". Strong chance there's nothing in this but I can't help but hope 🙈

I think those are just part of the set of concept arts that were released last year

I wouldn't be surprised if Naughty Dog followed up Uncharted 4 by making a new Jak & Daxter. I don't quite know which direction they would go. An open world Platformer? A GTA type clone? It might be something they would consider after all the narrative heavy and more serious styled games - something more 'fun' and a change of pace. I could see a new Crash too for this reason. Some change of pace and direction from Uncharted and Last of Us to give the studio a break from these lifelike settings.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

I would love a new Jak and Daxter, but I don't think it will happen

Yeah, I think @SKC_Diamond is correct in that the art is with the set from last year.

I kinda wouldn't mind seeing Jak on PS4, but I honestly don't see a reason for the series to come back. I haven't played the 3rd game, so I don't know how the story ends, but even from Jak II the story felt complete.

Even if it would come back, ND would probably rather make Last of Us 2 than another Jak. They haven't returned to a franchise they finished yet, and they'd probably start something new when they finish Last of Us.

@SKC_Diamond: I had a Google for the released concept art and these weren't in it, they were released about 2 weeks ago by a freelance concept artist.

I know ND thought about it and decided to make Last Of Us, but who's saying they couldn't in the future or some other team picking it up.

With the return of 3D platformers - not just Ratchet and Clank but Yooka-Laylee as well as Skylar and Plux: Adventure on Clover Island on the horizon, It could be a good time to revisit Jak and Daxter. It really depends on what ND want and need. Having spent the last 10years+ working on narrative heavy, visually realistic games, they may want to something that's a complete departure and go back to Jak and Daxter or Crash (if not something similar) Bandicoot - something a bit more crazy and 'fun' instead of these narrative heavy games. A change is as good as a break...
I know people want a 'Last of Us 2' but I really see that as a 'one-off'. The story itself doesn't lead you into a natural sequel. I guess it could get a prequel or a sequel but trying to do something that doesn't feel 'forced' because of the success, is very difficult based off the original story. Its clear that ND want to take a break from Uncharted too based on the comments from them. Its clear they have put a lot of time, effort and heart into creating U4, pushing themselves and the technology and to me it seems they want/need to do something 'different' to reinvigorate themselves, take a different direction etc. Personally I would love an Uncharted 5 - its my favourite exclusive franchise. I can fully understand though the need to do something 'different' and that's where I see ND at at the moment.

if there was a Jak 4 or reboot I don't think it would be ND who would do it, Uncharted and Last Of Us brought them to new heights in the game industry which I doubt Jak would be able to follow that up. So I wouldn't be surprised if they passed it on to another team instead of letting the whole series die.
As for ND I'd love to see them make something new after their done with U4, I loved Last of Us and Uncharted but if ND can pull two franchises out like that then why can't they make another new blockbuster title next instead of another sequel.

Enjoyed the first game. Never played the others. I'm certainly excited about the 3d resurgence we are about to embark on. Hopefully Jak and Daxter will be a part of that! Of course, I'm not expecting this to happen.

Like Crash & Sypro the Dragon, Jak & Daxter has followed the way of shelf.

It's not coming back. I'm surprised Ratchet and Clank went on for this long & Sly making that stealthy comeback didn't help either.
