@nessisonett So why was it nuked because he left. There's a bunch of thread that people started on Nintendolife and have left and they are still going. I don't understand how because some leaves a thread can't keep going. Seems weird to me.

Finished the story last night. Just got the last few trophies to mop up for the platinum. Good game, liked it overall. The third act was a bit poor though. The least interesting of the landscapes, and storytelling kind of fell apart a bit. The final battle against the Khan was a bit anticlimactic the way they did that I thought. Glad they added the lethal difficulty, was much needed.

Definitely one of the best scores I've heard in a game though.

Finally completed the game.

I had been dragging my feet to complete it, like I often do for games I adore, because I don’t want to see them end. Also, towards the end I somewhat saw the final plot point coming and I didn’t want to have to face that dilemma. In the end, I gave Shimura the honorable death he requested and it really kind of broke my heart. I haven’t been that emotional in a game in a while. Didn’t cry but almost did. The music in the final stretch was fantastic.

I just overall loved the game.
I might go back and try the new update patch later. At least I’ll try the multiplayer. The dog petting mechanic would have been nice to have all along, but I’m not going to go back to the single player just for that. I’ve platinum’d the game and seen every inch of the island almost.

@Th3solution Well done sir! Glad you enjoyed it! I made the same choice as you, but I wasn't as torn as you and did not hesitate when it came up. I might try it on PS5 with all enhancements to see how it plays, but I think I'm kinda done with the game.

I'm slowly working my way through the game. Combat gets more fun once you unlock more combos (hold ∆ + quickly tap ∆ is one of my favourites). I'm about to take down the castle in the second part of the map. After that there's one region left I think.

@Octane Yeah, you’re about to approach the section where the open-world fatigue may set in, depending on how you’ve been playing the game. Hopefully it flows well for you; I quite liked the last third, but must admit I had to take a break now and again to keep burn out at bay. For me the combat remained fun and satisfying, even after encounters become relatively trivial due to being overpowered. There is enough variety to how you can approach a conflict that I still enjoyed it and sought out slaughtering Mongols even after I maxed out my levels and opened all the techniques.

Th3solution

@JohnnyShoulder Yeah, there are a couple banners and maybe one or two Mongol artifacts I don’t have, but I’m satisfied to leave it, unless the update adds anything else. I’m curious about the multiplayer, although online MP typically isn’t my jam.

I will say that this game is one in which I’m having that ‘post-completion blues’ syndrome we talk about. After a long game with large emotional investment, sometimes you feel empty when it’s done, like a sadness to say goodbye to the setting and it’s people. Particularly if they stick the landing on the ending, which I definitely think they did here. Playing DOOM afterward had a bit of a hollowness to it, emotionally speaking. Usually the funk only lasts a day or two, but it’s a weird feeling to be done with a game and satisfied, but also miss it and it’s characters.

@Th3solution I've done every singly thing. Including filling out the map, I feel so stupid running around on the horse, but I can't stand those empty patches on the map. Won't do. So yeah, I don't play many open world games because of that reason. They drive me nuts.

@Octane I was the same way. You’ll probably find the last section to be less interesting to explore, from a environmental sight-seeing point of view. It is unique from the first two chapters though.

I also struggle with the reflexive tendency to gather every single pick up as I go through an area. I had in excess of 20,000 supplies with nothing really left to buy, yet I was still collecting bamboo to sell to the trapper all the way to the end. 😂 Clearly I have a clinical problem. There something strangely satisfying about the sound the bamboo makes when you pick it up.

If defogging the map is a priority for you then be sure to hit the mongol encampments / bases early on in a new area because knocking those out defogs a large section all around it. Travelers attire helps a little bit too. But you probably already know this.

But yeah, open world games are harsh on my obsessive-compulsive personality tendencies. GoT isn’t too big to the point of making that approach unreasonable though. It has a finite area at least. Some of the other games with enormous maps make it nearly impossible to play that way.

@Th3solution After I had finished the story and got the platinum, I still wanted more so I went for all the artifacts and other non trophy related collectable stuff. Very few games I will play on after I've finished the story or got the platinum.

This game is the best of this generation in my opinion. I absolutely love it. Saturday night and few pints. I'm going to save the game+ for when I get the PS5.

Does anyone know if the Daily Challenges are the same for everyone?

Got the "Kill (100) enemies with ranged attacks" yesterday and today. Pretty tedious challenge.

Huntin' monsters erryday.

So, I just started playing this game this week, and I’d like to take a moment to appreciate just how amazing every single side-quest is, and how well thought out all the content is. I know people praise TW3 for side quests, but to me these are just as well written with much less of the tedium. They’re interesting but still keep the flow of the game going.

@Mega-Gazz They were good, but an over reliance on tracking missions generally in the game for me. Still an absolutely wonderful game, but that slight was stopping it being a 10/10 for me.

That said, the tracking missions! The tracks don’t glow you actually have to look for footprints!

@Mega-Gazz The thing I found weird about the prints in the tracking missions... they're always just on paths lol. So you don't even have to keep an eye out for prints. Just follow the path.

@Mega-Gazz I thought they did, when you used the touchpad for the guiding wind? I could be wrong though as I've not played the game in months.

I suppose the wind could count, but it isn’t glowing tracks on the ground still
