i never preorder games before i know what they are all about, but with this one, i had some thoughts honestly it was the devil tickling me haha. BUT im glad i didnt! In fact, because of this game, and because of my personality (not a gambler) in general, Ill never ever PreOrder a game.
BUT, anyway the reason I am making this thread IS because im still curious to know more about its current updates and some positive reviews regarding the updates, aka wastelanders. For the people who got this game originally, Are those updates and new versions of this game worth it in any way? I mean the wastelanders etc. Also, I am curious, did anyone ever get a refund for the original game past the date of release??
Anyway, I thought about it for a while maybe ill get it for the wastelanders update... i still havent received any reviews so far, hopefully some of you guys share, but ***** it, if someone is very unhappy with their original purchase, why not throw it out but just send it to me you know. Ill do honest review right here on this forum!
It’s a great game. I can’t remember why reviewers didn’t like it. But it plays like previous games except now you can team up with buddies, and trading with random people can be fun. The only real drawback is that there is no slow motion when using Vats.
@Wesker yeah I never played 76 but I always strongly had the impression it wasn’t as bad as people made out. Sounds like the updates have made a big difference too.
@kyleforrester87 I’ve got no idea why anyone who likes Fallout 4, wouldn’t like 76. It’s the same gameplay loop. I remember you weren’t a big fan of Fallout 4 so I wouldn’t recommend it for you, but it’s far from a bad game. It’s a Bethesda game with a great map, loads to do, exploration, looting, shooting, role playing, inventory management, quests, dialogue options, skill trees... it’s all here. Nothing’s missing. Then you’ve got the online components on top of that. I really like it.
@Wesker The only thing putting me off this is the fact that it's online. I just don't trust other players, even if they're being unusually nice I'm always expecting a blast to the face.
The below is taken from a site who I trust when it comes to reviews. They come across as genuine and don't follow the rest of the herd.
Fallout 76: Wastelanders review summary
In Short: Wastelanders transforms Fallout 76 from a technical and conceptual disaster to a merely flawed online experience, which has a far better online community than it deserves.
Pros: Proper non-player characters and companions make a world of difference, although not as much as the unusually friendly human players. Large and generally well-designed game world.
Cons: Most of the original gameplay flaws remain, including terrible combat and flaccid survival elements. Majority of mission quests are still formulaic and repetitive. Still some serious bugs and glitches and very outdated graphics.
Of course any game will have its fans who will gloss over the negatives or find them not to impact their enjoyment of the game.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@ApostateMage I’ve never had that. In fact, most higher level guys give you stuff like workshop plans and weapons without any charge. I’ve played about 50 hours and I’ve never engaged with PVP, but I think if you shoot someone then everyone else will come after you.
@JohnnyShoulder they could be, yeah. But I’m not saying they’re wrong, I’m saying that they are exaggerated, at least from where I’m sitting. I felt like the problems with DriveClub, Red Dead Redemption, Destiny, Need for Speed Payback, Assassins Creed Unity and many others were over exaggerated too. I think things like online multiplayer integration and micro transactions upset people a lot.
@ApostateMage Yeah I hate online gaming for exactly that reason. Everyone is always cheating or much higher level than me, owning me. Whats the enjoyment of that? I hate online games! I just cant get through the idea its the last Fallout game and who knows if another one will be made in the future. I have to try it, but Ill spend money then I am ******. I really wish someone trade with me, or just rent it. Because, I have a feeling Ill just start killing everyone, getting killed tons of times, and Ill lose interest in the game in about a day hah
@Skoda Yeah on PSN. You've only got a few hours left now though. Did you not even have a look? Why don't you bother with psn? There are some really good deals on there.
OMG *****. i was actually replaying the older fallouts on xbox360 because im selling that system and wanted to check if it functions 100%. anyway got to play a bit too much completely forgot to tune on PS4 this weekend. now its ***** late lol that is just so sad
why the hell they put it only playable for the weekend tho, this blows!
actually nevermind i didnt miss on anything. i havent used PSN in ages and somehow there is an issue with loging anyway so... i guess its no biggie. but im probably gonna fix this because i might miss out on something else like this in the future. i just gave up on PSN because 1) i dont buy digital games 2) i hate each month free game lineup
but maybe ill reconsider now... lets see what june free games are
