I know IW had a lot of hate but it did have a very good campaign.

The trailer certainly looks promising and it seems they've took a few hints from Battlefield from the trailer.

@Rudy_Manchego Yeah, I'm with you on this. I want to be into it so much, especially since starting at the beginning, but I can't get excited until we see more proper gameplay and see what mechanics are underlying the campaign and multi-player.

There was a game idea here. It's gone now.

Been watching videos on YouTube from the E3 multiplayer event and this game looks amazing. I particularly like the sound of War mode which is an objective based mode that from the closet comparison is like Overwatch. I can't wait for the beta which starts August 25.

it does look decent actually although once again in a War game it's all about the Americans, as if they were the ONLY country to fight in the damn thing (which America seems to want us all to believe with the way they do games and films)

i would just once love the choice of choosing which of the allied nations i wanted to play as

anyway i gave Infinite Warfare a go and i didn't like it much but perhaps going back to the roots of the series could strangely be the shot in the arm it needs

"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"

"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!

BAMozzy

@Tasuki Did you play World at War?? The game has the same aesthetics - just better quality. I really thought the guns sounded and looked to handle just like Advanced Warfare. It really looked and sounded like Advanced Warfare in World at War (without the Exo's of course).

Not convinced by the 'Divisions' either - essentially giving you a class for snipers, LMG's, AR's, SMG's and Shotguns. Each with their own unique and upgradeable Perks. I hate the sound of my own 'footsteps' in CoD so ALWAYS use 'Dead Silence' and its not primarily for the 'stealth' benefits - its because I cannot stand my own footsteps first and foremost. It looks like I would be limited to 'Airbourne' because of this, limited in the weapon choice (unless I pick up someones weapon) have to select a secondary (pistol, melee - not sure if a Rocket/grenade launcher would be available in that 'division') but 'could' have a silencer I can take on or off in game...

War does look very interesting though - similar to modes in SW:BF2 and BF1 and certainly more interesting than team campfest...

I can't say its on my most wanted at the moment but with the campaign and Zombies adding to the overall package, I might pick it up at some point...

@Kyroki I recently picked up Battlefield 1 on the sale and played a bit of it last night I figure it would scratch the WWII itch I have due to CoD WWII and I don't know if I am doing something wrong, or its people with better gear (if that is a thing in this game) but I found it extremely aggravating to play. For one I was continuous one shotted by snipers the moment I spawned in and then if I managed to confront someone one on one 8/10 times I would just get one shotted by them even after I loaded a few rounds into them. Battlefield 1 is not noob friendly. Still though, I am not going to let it keep me down.

Well no surprise here. Sledgehammer Games have confirmed supply drops will be in CoD: WWII.

@Kyroki Yeah, I heard something about that as well, I am very interested to see the Zombies portion of the game, as the main people at Sledgehammer are the ones that made the Dead Space series.

@Kyroki From what Sledgehammer has said is that it's a Zombie mode but more along the lines of a survivor horror more then Treyarch Zombies. As I mentioned before the head of Sledgehammer Games, Glenn Schofield is the creator of Dead Space and he said that it was good getting back to a horror game something like Dead Space.

Definitely Zombies and from what is known, Michael Condrey, Studio Head and Co-Founder of Sledgehammer, claimed: "our co-operative mode delivers a unique storyline that's an all-new take on Nazi Zombies that we think fans are going to love."

Two things to take away there: first, we know it's still going to be a co-op mode, as it always has been; and second, the mention of an 'all-new' take on Nazi Zombies.

Allegedly its based on the concept that Hitler tried to create 'super soldiers' that went wrong and created 'Zombies' instead. Its also capturing the essence of Dead Space - which has caused some to speculate it may be a third person co-op experience.

So the beta starts in 5 days. I am so hyped. So far we know the following

4 maps will be playable (3 MP and the new War mode)
Leveling will be available to a certain point but won't be carried over to the main game
Headquarters won't be available
Supply drops won't be available
Partaking in the beta will grant you a special calling card and emblem and cameo

War mode is a lot fun played that mostly been a long time since I played any COD games. Takes a while to get used to very different style from BF1.

So I put in a good amount in on the beta the past few days and here's what I think of it so far.

I like the return to boots on the ground style. For me personally I don't have deal with moon jumping and wall running. I see someone I shot and don't have deal with them jumping 20 feet in the air and killing me in a cheap death.

As far as CoD: WWII goes you can tell they put a lot of work into this game more so then Infinite Warfare. Out of the 3 maps available for the beta I like Gibraltar the best, it plays well and has spots for every one. There's close quarter areas for SMG and Shotgun users a couple of sniper points and of course areas for assult rifle users. The other two maps, aren't bad but you can tell they are tailored for more CQC.

War mode is a great addition and something to add to the change of pace from other multiplayer modes. I will say the objective gameplay reminds me alot of Overwatch which is fine cause I like Overwatch.

The divisions are a nice change as well. At first I was confused by the divisions but once I got into the game they were very well explained and they were easy to figure out. It's basically like having a specialist, and pick 10 system all rolled into one.

In general I think this was the shake up that the CoD series needed while some things feel familiar there are a good amount of changes and updates so that it doesn't feel like the same old thing. As I said before, I am going to be sinking alot of time into this game.

Yeah, I put about 30 hours into the beta this weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and this is coming from a guy who loves Infinite Warfare. Been playing Call of Duty since CoD3 and I'm excited for BOTG, and I think Sledgehammer did a fantastic job making the change back to boots still feel fast-paced and frantic. This will be a big year for CoD, and I'm looking forward to it. I plan on spending a lot of time on this game. If anyone wants to party up feel free to add me. I'm not overly competitive, but I do like to win and play the objectives (especially in War mode). However, I am in the US. PSN is Doctor_BK

@Splat They haven't announced anything, but they usually open CoD betas up to the public during the second weekend, which would be this weekend.

@Splat Xbox get their 'Beta' access this weekend due to the deal with Sony so maybe they might open up a Public beta during this phase.
