Hey guys, I recently got a PS4 and I am looking into buying some racing games for the console. While I am more interested in arcade style racing games after playing Need For Speed Most Wanted on my Wii U, I also want a simulating racing game, kind of like Project Cars. However, there seems to be SO many of them coming out- The Crew, Driveclub, Need for Speed Rivals, Project CARS, to name a few! Can you guys give me your honest impressions of these games? Thanks!

I've played Need for Speed: Rivals and I really like it. Excellent racing game that's lots of fun. The cop-racer dynamic is great and the gadgets add a lot to the game, it also has a so wonderful cutthroat element to it because racers use gadgets on racers as well as cops. I may or may not have a huge glitch, but I may have found a solution, so I'll report back on that tomorrow. Overall though, I wholeheartedly reccomend you get if you want a racing game. I know the other games you mentioned aren't out get either.

Thanks for replying Yea, I kind of think Rivals seems to be one of the best of the list

Right now it's Need For Speed Rivals. DriveClub and Project Cars will be out soon enough though so it could change but NFS won't be easy to top.

Okay, so there's not a big glitch in the game, I was just doing something wrong.

I pretty much am a racing-game enthusiast, I'll give you a quick rundown:

Need for Speed Rivals - for me lackluster, don't like it, last good Need for Speed game was the original Most Wanted.

Driveclub - I can't judge yet, I expect it to be a bit like Forza Horizon, personally I like games that are somewhere between sim and arcade, Driveclub seems to fill that niche quite well. I don't know though how those social features will add up to a fun competent package.

The Crew - I played the BETA on PC, with a gamepad. I was looking forward to this one, but it feels and plays just like a collection of GTA-missions centered around cars. There are many "filler" missions, typical Ubisoft. It's a really nice idea but I didn't like the feel of the physics and for me it's just a bit too "arcadey".

Project Cars - been in the alpha since 2 years now. Awesome awesome awesome game, has the potential to steal the crown of Gran Turismo. I'd really recommend this one as you can easily tailor it to your level of skill and make it as sim or as arcadey as you want!

BLUR 2 - unfortunately lost in the ether when Bizzare Creations departed, I'm still hoping that someone will resurect this franchise one day as it was - to me - the best action/fun racer ever. It's right up there with Mario Kart and Mod Nation Racer.

So there you have it. My advice: If you can or want to only get ONE racing game: get Project Cars. If you're not too much into realism and just want a laid back race here and there with your friends on open roads, get Driveclub. If you're weird and like all the "car gangster" Scheme thing like in the action movies, get The Crew!

Hope that helped.

I would recommend getting NFS:R, or waiting a few weeks for Drive Club. If you can, get both.

Well what odd timing... If you want NFS: Rivals then here's something.

You can take @Scollurio recommendations as well.

"They played us like a damn fiddle!" - MGS5
"Finish your mission, prove your loyalty." - MGS3
"We could take a s*** on you from such a height, you'd think God himself has crapped on you!" - GTA: SA
Currently Playing: The Phantom Pain.
