Topic: Best PS4 Games?

Hey guys! I just got a PS4 last night along with Destiny and Last of Us Remastered and I'm wondering what other games out there are good, as really those two games are NOT at all the sort of game I usually play. I'm coming over from Nintendo, actually, and enjoy a lot of games on their consoles, especially simulation, racing, RPG, relaxation, and puzzle games. I also really like RTS games. Soooooo, not what seems to really be out on the PS4 at the moment, as far as I can tell.

I'm planning to get flower, Valiant Hearts, and Minecraft and would appreciate some ideas on what's good on PS4 right now as I really have no idea.

Congrats on your PS4 purchase! Eh you're going to have a meaty backlog if we recommend more games (including the holiday/post holiday onslaught) I would rather tell you about games that are coming very shortly rather than right now!

Dragon Age inquisition, Lords of the Fallen, Driveclub, Natural Doctrine, Project Cars. Then Bloodborne, The Witness and for my own sake and piece of mind (and I can wholeheartedly tell you to run out for these titles when they launch) MGSV: The Phantom Pain and Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

Also for RTS: Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War & Nightmare.

I have a friend who is super into Dragon Age but I know almost nothing about it. I've also never played a Metal Gear game if you can believe that! Thank you for the recs and I will look into these. I'm sure there will be some in here that will tickle my fancy!

Diablo III is really good alot of people around here are enjoying it.

As download only goes Resogun is a really good shumup if you like those type of games and so is Velocity 2X (Which is free right now if you have a PSN+ membership.  Towerfall Accession is a good arcade/puzzle type game.  And if you haven't played it already Child of Light is an amazing RPG on the PSN service.

Some others that are good are

Injustice Gods Among Us (Probably the best fighting game on the system right now and you can get it fairly cheap nowadays)

Infamous Second Son

NBA 2K14 (If you are into Basketball or sports games in general)

Get Velocity 2X if you're a PS+ member, as it's brilliant.
Watch Dogs is worth a play, as is Wolfenstien and NFS Rivals.
Also Ground Zeroes is worth a try as it's pretty cheap.

Thank you! Yeah I've been playing Velocity 2X and it's brilliant. Is Watch_Dogs really that good? I've watched a few LPs of it and it seems OK but I'm not sure if I'd really get into it... maybe if I picked it up cheap.

Your supposed to get the free trial first, then opt to continue (or not) onto your PS Plus membership. But now that you're a PS Plus member first, you can't get gain access to the free trial.

inFamous: Second son is the system's best, its DLC First Light is fantastic too. Fact, you can get that to see if inFamous is to your liking before dropping the money on Second Son.
If you want a good racing game, Need for Speed: Rivals is a lot of fun, the gadget and cop/racer system is great.
If you want a good fighting game, Injustice is a great one.
Resogun is a great shumup, Don't Starve is a pretty good survival game, brutal (if you die it's game over, but that's what makes the survival fun), but fun. If you have someone else to play it with, Tower Ascension is great fun, it has some SP content to too, so it's good for more than multiplayer.
For upcoming games, the only one coming out this year I can recommend you look into is Samurai Warrior 4.

Welcome! Both TLOU and Destiny are good games, even if not what you are use to. Honestly though, it is good to try news styles of games, otherwise, why come across to PS4? The WiiU does Nintendo style games better than anything. The PS4 has a crazy variety.

I would also echo the comments of Punished_Boss above. There is a "crazy" list of games coming out in Oct/Nov, so I wouldn't stress too much on the backlog. Focus on the future.

That all being said, if you are looking for something new this month,  I would recommend the following:

Child of Light - turn based RPG. Would appeal to you from your description of likes.
Tomb Raider - If you haven't played it already somewhere else. Highly recommended.
Infamous Second Son - Thoroughly enjoyable open world romp. Super powers!
Don't Starve -  Is a good survival strategy game. Should appeal.
Final Fantasy XIV - Highly Addictive MMO
Minecraft - needs no intro.
WarThunder - is a great FTP WWII flight simulator.

Metro Dedux
Diablo III

As a new member coming from a different company, I wanted to point out one thing for you.  If you go on the playstation app or the website, as a plus member, you can download all the games, even for systems you don't own.  That way, if you ever decide to get a vita or ps3 for cheap, you'll have a bunch of free games already!  Once you download a game for the first time, you'll always be able to download it as long as you're a plus member.  That's one area in which Sony really trumps Nintendo, IMO.

On topic:  Infamous Second Son, Diablo 3, LBP3 coming out in November...

I think I have Don't Starve on Steam already, but I'd have to double check to be sure. @ztpayne7 You were really helpful, I didn't know you could download the PS+ games from the website, that's really cool. I downloaded Hoard because maybe I will get a PS3 someday - unless there's any chance games like Bioshock Infinite and Ni No Kuni will be ported over to this gen.
