@Frigate My team do me proud. Sorry about yesterday, didn't have a good not that's an excuse for my passive aggressive behaviour..

Just waiting for some clarification on how Team Vetos work.
I thought we could use them on any game... .
If that’s not the case I guess Blur will be bumped up.

Do we wish to use a team veto @KALofKRYPTON @Kidfried @Gremio108 @Octane @mookysam @AdamNovice ?
I don't really disagree with any of the placements. How about you team?

I only question Civilization on consoles as ''very important''; same with Dance Dance Revolution.

@Fight_Sora_Fight Sorry Teza. Its 10pm tonight. Its up to you to decide if you want to alter a games placement by taking counsel from your team. You can move only 1 game though! How you pick this and come to a conclusion is up to you.

@Kidfried @Gremio108 @mookysam @AdamNovice @Fight_Sora_Fight

I'm with @Octane, Civ Rev is a fine game, but other than being Civilization 'lite' for console - I can't see the particular significance of it. I wouldn't put it as Very Important.

We could ask them why they're in the very important tier?

@Fight_Sora_Fight Unless anyone here (or the team that ranked it) truly loved it, maybe take World at War down from important? The campaign is truly dreadful and a huge step back from Modern Warfare. Treyarch were still the B Team at that point.

I know that its multiplayer was popular and "Nazi Zombies" mode was particularly influential. Zombies popped up around the same time as other similar modes such as "Horde Mode" from Gears of War 2. However, given Call of Duty's success from World at War onward (it was the first bona fide juggernaut in the series), I think it is fair to say it popularised the mode. Is that enough of a basis to say it's important?

@Octane I’ll head into enemy territory now & report back👍🏾.

@mookysam World at War at 1 now.

Deadline is at just around 10pm UK time for team vetos.

Th3solution

@Fight_Sora_Fight I don’t really have personal experience with the two Revolution games (Civilization and Dance, Dance) and I personally did rate Civ Rev as “important” but those on my team who actually played the game pushed it higher. It did seem to be one of the most important strategy games of the generation, and led to many more sequels, notably a Civ Rev 2. I think it’s considered a high point for the long standing series.
Dance, Dance is pretty much synonymous with the dance game genre though. Also not a game I personally played, it was a cultural phenomenon at the time. I don’t feel it has been replaced since either as what would be thought of as the quintessential dance game. The reputation alone had me going along with the “very important” categorization.
Hope this helps as you all look to choose one of many (or none) that you want to change. Perhaps others from the team will chime in to help.

Thanks @Th3solution. Do you guys @Octane @KALofKRYPTON want to drop down one of the two? I don't have experience with either.

@Fight_Sora_Fight I personally don't see why they should be Very Important, but if they say so, I'm fine with it.

@Fight_Sora_Fight No problemo.
Check out the main thread for a comment by Frigate about his feelings on Civ Rev.

RogerRoger

Originally put in our own topic, because I'm a tired doofus...

@Fight_Sora_Fight There are a couple snippets of Dance Dance Revolution thoughts from our team above this post; I myself have never played it but fully supported its classification as "Very Important" because of its cultural impact on gaming in general, and specifically on arcade gaming. It was (and still is) utterly huge in Japan, bringing an awareness of gaming to a wider audience in much the same way the Wii did with its bundled Wii Sports. The fact that it pops up in the latest Hitman game as an easter egg sealed the deal for me; people still think of it, and many would have become gamers because of it. Ask a truly international selection of randoms to name a dancing game, and most would likely say "Dance Dance Revolution".

And yes, as @Th3solution accurately points out (thanks for being on the ball, comrade) there are some words from @Frigate regarding Civilisation in the main topic; since they'd played it and categorised it first, I supported their ranking after doing some brief overview research.

@RogerRoger But is it the specific PS3 release of DDR that made it so popular or the arcade version?

Octane

RogerRoger

@Octane Since the game in our list is simply called "Dance Dance Revolution" then I and I believe others on my team may have considered it to be the same game as the original.

Your question (and Google) tells me that this might've been a slight oversight.

We also had a game listed called "Dance Dance Revolution New Moves" which I thought to be a re-release of a previous entry in the series, only with Move support tacked on, so I argued for it to be merged. I'm now seeing from a different source, however, that the PS3 only ever got one Move-supported DDR game which was called different things in different regions, released at different times; it was called "Dance Dance Revolution" in the US and "Dance Dance Revolution: New Moves" in Europe. They're identical.

@themcnoisy was the only member of our team who listed having played DDR on PS3, so at this stage I'm tagging him to ask whether he can shed some light on this (sorry, comrade)?

If you must take our DDR do so but remember one thing.
