So I bought psvr first and a ps3 eye camera for move controls second. For the life of me, I can't get these dang things to connect to a ps3. Yes, I've done the reset button like every online instruction tells me to. Yes, I've forgotten devices on ps4. I've tried dozens of cables. I've done every combination of system off, plug in cables, and pressing the PlayStation button. The charging light never blinks. The error light comes on when I try to press the PlayStation button. I know the ps4 refuses to let you charge or turn on the controller(for the first time at least) without it being plugged into the ps4. I don't know if that screwed up the move controller internally or something. I know the controllers work, I use them on VR all the time. What can I do? I bought a camera and portal 2 DLC just to do this. I don't want to track down never used brand new move controllers.

@TestingTheWaters If I recall correctly, if you buy PS Move controllers that were manufactured specifically for PS4 and PS VR, you can't use them on PS3. You have to buy ones that were manufactured for the PS3, i.e. not ones that are sold in stores today. However, PS Move controllers that are used on PS3 can also be used on PS4, just not vice versa.

Just did a quick Google search to confirm this. I also learned that you can see the differences between PS3 and PS4 PS Move controllers by looking at their USB ports. If your PS Move controller has a Micro USB port, then it was made for PS4 and is therefore not compatible with PS3. If it has a mini USB port, then it was made for PS3 and is compatible with both PS3 and PS4.

Thank you. Yes, that was the issue. Sucks I have to sink more money into this. Waited 2 months for a Chinese camera TV mount to get here already. Don't know if I need the navigation controller. Never saw that before.
