Anyone else a fan of the Minis range? I actually like bite-sized, inexpensive downloadable games - I'm a fan of DSiWare, and I'm a fan of the Minis.
For me, Vector TD will occupy my gaming time for some time to come, I think. It's stylish, but simple, difficult, but accessible. It's obviously a game that was produced cheaply, but the actual game quality is pretty high.
Other favourite minis of mine: History Channel: Egypt (can't remember the proper name, but it's a reasonable Civ/ Heroes of Might and Magic clone) Dynoblaster (pretty charming little puzzler) Numba (really cheap, and really smart puzzle game) Yetisports (very little content, but I love hitting penguins)
As usual for me I recommend people stay far away from Gameloft. Hero of Sparta and Let's Golf are terrible.
I've only gotten two minis. I bought monopoly to burn some time and it was a descent version. I also got age of zombies free with playstation plus and I LOVE that game. I agree that I like the bite sized game play for those quick 5 minutes of fun.
I too am a big fan of Minis. Blast Off has some of the best music in any DL game ever. Its a steal at only 3 bucks.
I also have Echoes (another steal at just $0.99!) and Young Thor. The latter is pretty good, but can get repetitive. I still recommend all 3 of them, though.
I've really enjoyed the minis. I feel they're a better value than most PSP games.
Tetris is great, but only available for play on the PSP. Age of Zombies was good, but short. Alien Zombie Death had nice pick up and play arcade type action. Tehra was good, but short. 4x4 Jam was pretty impressive for a mini. Archibald's Adventure was a decent puzzle game. Coconut Dodge is... awesome!
...the best mini I've played though has got to be Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess, great humor, great gameplay and yea, just one of the best minis, if not the best out, tons of replayability.
I'm really looking forward Mediatonic's next game, WTF.
I'm sure the Halfbrick games are great, but I already have them as 360 Indies, so I didn't bother picking up the minis ports.
I've also bought more minis than what I have posted above, but some aren't so great, Stellar Attack and Ace Armstrong, bleah, at least Ace is supposedly getting patched. ...and some I've purchased, but haven't had time to play yet like Young Thor and Age of Hammer Wars.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
Who's That Flying?! will be released in the next update. I'll be buying it later today. It will be the 2nd mini released by Mediatonic who made my favorite mini, Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess. It looks like it'll have fast paced shooter action and more humor like their first mini. Should be great.
The only Minis I have are Age of Zombies (very first purchase, I still play it now and then. Awesome game), Tetris (sadly PSP-only) and Freekscape: Escape from Hell. Freekscape is surprisingly underrated, but I think it's a fantastic game. Very Klonoa-inspired, and that's in no way a bad thing.
Dude, N.o.v.a is good. I took a chance with it, and it delivered. For what it is, its a great game. I see why there is already a sequel. We got shafted because the iphone has online play.

A Space Shooter for 2 Bucks is Amazing. One of my favorite Minis so far. Like 9/10 good from me. Has a great leveling system, hilarious voice acting and awesome horizontal SMUP goodness. Great game for such a cheap price it almost feels like you steal the game.
Don't not buy this Mini if your a Mini person, especially if your a SMUP fan!

All my News and Reviews in One convenient place!
I've said it else where, but I'm just not into Minis. If I had a PSP, I'd probably spend time playing them, but on my PS3 my attitude is "Why bother."
As a Plus subscriber, I'm exposed to a sample of the titles. I do download them and try them. Some, like Echoes and others actually impress me. Still, they're not my thing. I don't turn on my PS3 to play a little game when it's capable of so much more. Similarly, if I only have 15 minutes to play, I don't bother. Turning the system on and off takes about 5 of those minutes.
And no trophy support means that I simply don't find these games as rewarding. I'm a bit addicted to the little pop-up when a new trophy is earned. Knowing that I'll never get one playing a mini is disappointing. They might be fun, but I have a stack of disc games that are also fun and support trophies that go ping and give me a sense of accomplishment, however small.
