Topic: Virtua Fighter 5 Tournament

Hi everyone, so VF5 is free on plus. Is anyone up for a tournament?

We will start it up this coming Monday evening at 10pm if we can get enough heads.

I won't be able to make it but that's a cool idea (although I hear the online lobby system is pretty bad in VF5).

Wish more people here played MK11 so I could kick y'alls butts

@Voltan I was thought you meant Mario Kart 11 for a minute there and in my delirious state thought I'd missed some news on 3 new Mario kart games 😅. Unfortunately I'm still waiting on the the most complete-est edition of Mortal Kombat 11 before I buy. There is evidence to suggest there may be a final Kombat pack before they call it a day

@themcnoisy haven't tried VF5 yet but I do have it on the download. Unfortunately I'm away next week so won't be able to participate... and by participate, I mean get my ass handed to me!

@ralphdibny Really hard to say if they will be releasing any more characters but also no real evidence that they won't. Maybe they'll announce something at E3 (WB has a thing on Sunday).

@Voltan I think I'd be happy to pick up 11 if they announce 12 or injustice 3. Probably safe to say that 11 is done at that point. I just read somewhere that there is 42 character slots coded into the game and as of the Ultimate version there is currently only 37 characters which is why I expect another 5 to be announced. I'm not holding my breath either way though!

I've recently been burned by Power Rangers Battle For the Grid which I originally bought digital thinking it wasn't going to get a physical release (it did but oh well). Then I've bought every fighter pass for it (discounted, but still...) And now they've announced a final street fighter themed fighter pass and a Super Edition that includes all content and an exclusive skin. You can upgrade to the super edition from the original releases but it means paying for 2 season passes again. They've basically screwed everyone who bought everything in the game already out of this exclusive skin. I know it sounds petty and I apologise for the moan lol 😅

Had a quick go on this just now. Seems decent! Controls are a bit weird but plugging in a stick and remapping them should do the trick. I did half an arcade ladder with Sarah Bryant and tried out some other characters in training mode.

The sound effects and voices are a bit weird, I assume they've used compressed PS3 sound files but it sounds weird when the sound comes out.

But yeah, lookin forward to giving this more of a go when I have some more free time! Maybe I can join in with the next tournament or something as I can't make this one

@Voltan damn, I don't have mk11.

Its weird though, I have always loved fighting games like SF, SC and Tekken but last gen was great with SC and Tekken arguably my favourite fighting games of all time. VF5 is great - give it a whirl!
