Topic: PS4 Destiny Meet Up Thread

@ShogunRok: Aye! As mentioned, can't do it this weekend but I'm totally up for exploring the old and new Destiny with you lot. Can be quite exciting to revisit PoE from a higher level, specially for the people that didn't have the gear for Skolas. One of the most entertaining, albeit frustrating, Boss mechanics of Year 1.

Court of Oryx (tier 1) requires light level 190 so its not that high. What balance of classes do we have? I am not sure which sub-class to work on first so if we have a lot of Nightstalkers for example, I will start with one of the others so we have a good balance.

I must admit, I really like the content so far. I like the way the story has a more depth and once the missions are completed, you get lots of different side quests. Loot seems odd at the moment. Some green and blue gear are better than purple. It works better to a degree as well. If you are light 200, you get items a little better (in general) around the 210-220 level. When you get near to 220, you get 220-230 gear. I do miss a lot of the yr1 raid and exotic weapons and can't say the yr2 weapons are that great (yet) - they get the job done I guess...

For those that are considering returning or new to it, The Taken King does come with all yr1 content but you only get Destiny on disc.

The Raids will not be 'Match-made' but anyone that has played them will tell you that they require communication, co-ordination and Teamwork - its not a case of turn up and shoot everything!!! If you want to do that just play the Strikes, patrols and missions! Match-made raids would not work - how can you communicate with people who don't speak the same language or don't have/use mics? Bungie would have to seriously dumb down the mechanics and processes for it to be 'feasible' to match make - besides it doesn't take much effort to find players looking to do these on websites- those that speak the same language, have mics even those to fulfil specific roles (like sword-bearer) or classes too. It doesn't require six 'friends' (i.e. those that are on your friends list only) but does require you to manually find suitable players. Living in Europe means that match-making could make your fire-team consist of six players all speaking different languages - English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch etc...

Count me in for some raiding this weekend, I'm at about light 214 right now with my Stormcaller Warlock, but I'm sure I'll be higher after playing a bit more.

Surely you mean 255, though. Apparently you need to have your best gear equipped when decoding engrams as it bases the result on your current light level. So its just about getting engrams and decoding with your best gear on and slowly working it up.

That's cool. Next week I'll hopefully start running Heroic Strikes, did one this week, maybe I'll try completing other two next Monday.

All right people, tonight's the night. I'm gonna be hammering Destiny to try and reach light level 300. Strikes, patrols, quests, hell, even the old raids. Whatever anyone's doing, I'm up for it.

I just did solo stuff yesterday, as I've got a bloody cold and didn't feel like talking to anybody haha. I'm at 285 now - got a fairly decent exotic sniper (see below) and good legendary pulse rifle. Still rocking a blue heavy but hopefully have a purple launcher before long.

Vita gaming for me the next couple of days, internet is rubbish in the hospital so cant even play that online Good thing is Im gonna smash geometry wars 3 and EDF and obviously look after the baby.

@kyleforrester87: Bloody hell! I've got two of that sniper rifle. It's really good, but it seems suspiciously common.

@AlexStinton: yeah it's a bit odd, I got 3 of the same shotgun from 3 exotic engrams :/ this sniper is pretty sweet though, the blinding light perk is cool against mobs. And it sounds nuts!

I'm not new to the game but took a massive break so have only done VoG, CE once and have never done Prison of Elders. I know there is a ton of new content but I'd also be interested in doing these too. I'm level 40 light 228 atm

There I was about to blow my marks on a purple launcher, turned in an engram before hand, leveled up my cryptarch and got a reward pack, turned it in for a purple engram and got the launcher I was eyeing up with higher stats to boot.

For once he's on my side! Can blow the marks on year 2 red death now, woop.
