Topic: What Happened To Most of The Forum Threads?

@Antdickens I just noticed while browsing the forums for the first time in ages that most of the threads I started are now gone, even ones that I was still getting notifications of new responses as recently as 2-3 months ago. Was it a server issue that caused a loss of data, a data breach, or a purge to save on bandwidth costs, or even an issue you were unaware of? I noticed that each forum section only has a fraction of the threads that they used to have as well. Anyways I'm just genuinely curious, but even if you guys purged the forum to save bandwidth I'd totally understand as a fellow owner of a website I know just how expensive bandwidth costs can be! 👍

@KeAfan7 It is most likely down to people leaving the site and requesting for their profile to be deleted. I believe that then deletes all their posts, including any topics they have created.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

@KeAfan7 I had a quick look and can't see any issues.

All your topics are listed here: https://www.pushsquare.com/users/KeAfan7/topics

Two things to consider though... 1) as above, when a user deletes their account we typically remove any topics they created (unless it had a reasonable number of replies, in which we keep it but flag to the site account). 2) topics that haven't had replies in a long time (2 years) are archived and only available through search or other archived pages.
