Topic: Stuttering and loss of sound

Hey guys, have had my Pro for about 4 weeks and most of it has been good. However, if I’ve been playing a while I notice that whatever game I’m playing (either download or disc copy) starts to stutter and have a loss of sound. During voiceover sections in Spider-Man, I’m missing parts of dialogue as it seems to stutter and miss words. Days gone had a weird static sound and I had no music or speech or sound effects except for the static sound.

Any suggestions?

@MikeSteel Before you swap out your PS4 or contact Sony Support, double-check your TV's speakers, the HDMI cable connection and / or any additional sound system you're using. If it's an issue only affecting the sound, and the games are still playing and running smooth, then it could be a separate problem elsewhere.

Otherwise, try the standard console health checks (boot it in Safe Mode and select "Rebuild Database") and remember to shut your PS4 down fully every now and again; don't just leave it sleeping.

If all else fails, contact Sony.
