I dont know if Im the only one thats had this issue. It only happens when I play RE:8 (which I keep replaying for some reason. Its very fun). But I'll play it for like an hour or two and for some reason my PS5 just shuts off. No beeping noise. No shut down screen. It just cuts to black and kills all PS5 power. The only way to turn it back on is to unplug the power cord from the PS5, then plug it back in. I thought it was an issue with my PS5 but I manage to play other games for hours just fine. It only happens when I play RE:8. I tried a workaround where I shut off ray tracing to see if that helps; it doesnt. I also tried to save the game, close the app and boot it up after about 45 minutes of playing. It still shut off. Almost like its on a timer. I cant be the only one with this issue right? And if so, does anyone have any idea what to do other than just uninstall the game (which i have also tried)?
@Votty I haven’t played RE8, nor had quite the issue you describe, but I wonder if it might be worthwhile to go into safe mode and do a cache clearing and a rebuild database, if you haven’t yet. There are videos and instructions online for how to do it. It shouldn’t mess with your game saves or delete any apps. It will reset the crossbar and some of the instructional pop-ups, but it’s not a big deal. I did this when Returnal had crashed my system once and it didn’t do it again afterward, so presumably it helped.
