Hi. Need some help. My son just got a new PS4 Slim to help him deal with this whole quarantine thing so he can play without using our family room TV when everyone else wants to watch something. We’re trying to get the new one to recognize the PS Move controllers, because he likes the VR games. We’ve tried everything. Reset the controllers, hooked them up with usb cable, the whole shut it off, restart, then plug it in and hold PS button, shut it off, UNPLUG the system for a minute, plug it back in and try all that. Tried the hold select, start, and PS button thing. We even tried telling my old PS4 to forget them and do all that again. Now NEITHER PS4 will recognize them. Tried multiple cables. The ONLY message I seem to be able to get that shows any sign that a system even knows they are there is that every once in a while, my old PS4 will say “plug in device with usb cable or register again”. Not sure what they mean by “register again.” I couldn’t find any reference to that online. And it is plugged in with a usb cable. Is this a cable issue? I’ve tried three different cables. Thanks.

So, fixed it. For anyone looking for info, I found another cable WAY back in my cable drawer that was thicker. Apparently, I was using power cables with no data transfer. This other cable had data transfer, I guess, because it worked right away.
