Topic: PS5 wifi suddenly dropping wifi signal

Hey all,
I’ve had my PS5 for a month or so now and it’s been perfect till today. The wifi doesn’t want to connect and I’ve tried restarting the PS5, rebuilding database, reset and restart modem, nothing seems to work.
I’ve not had any issues before, always connected to the 5ghz network and it’s been fine and stable. Now I get a warning that I can’t connect to the server but when I switch to the 2.4ghz signal it works but it’s much slower.

It did connect to the 5ghz wifi for about 10mins and was downloading an update but dropped the connection and now won’t connect even after all the restarts and resets.

Don’t think it’s the new firmware update since it worked for a few days trouble free after the update and only started today. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you found a fix to the issue?

Didn’t really “find” a fix for it, it just fixed itself. This was happening all weekend as I was trying to download my games library since I finally got my ssd. But then suddenly on Monday after resetting my modem, it started working and has been ever since with no drops or issues. Although my wifi speed on my PS5 is noticeably slower than other devices.

My MacBook and iPhone both get 100mbps down and 20mbps up while my PS5 seems to be less than half that speed, this is on the same room as the PS5 connected to the same wifi (5ghz). Not sure what’s going on but I’m just happy it’s not disconnecting and having issues. Would like to have faster downloads tho.
