I'm interested if many people are having problems with rest mode on the PS5, and it crashing the console? I've had a PS5 for about 11 months, and it was occasional but now 80% of the time I use rest mode I get a green screen and the console crashes. Next reboot (from console as joypad doesn't work) is slow and complains I never shut it down correctly. Obviously I've now had to stop using rest mode. I performed a complete rebuild from "safe mode" but still the same.
There's hundreds of complaints about this online, with Reddit threads with 100's of replies etc, and it seems pretty widespread. A few people have sent their consoles back to Sony and declared it resolved...
Based on this I've contacted Sony, and asked their opinion on if it's actually a hardware fault, or will system software resolve it in the future (I remember going though something similar with PS4 - resolved by software), but they just deny the problem exists and claim they have had no other reports?! I sent them a bunch of links to YouTube videos of other users getting the same issue, The huge (2 part!) Reddit thread, and various web sites only for them to stick to, "nope never heard of the problem".
I'm just interested if anyone else here gets this issue and if they've contacted Sony?
That sounds annoying, I have not had it happen to me fortunately. The forum community here is not huge and not everyone here even has a PS5 (fake gamers) and most of the people who do have problems are as a result of jam and occasionally marmalade getting into the system somehow, so I don’t think you’ll get details of single cases let alone multiple reports here - probably best to stick to Reddit.
Nope, no issues with rest mode myself but only use it occasionally if I'm downloading a game or want to charge the dual sense.
Sounds annoying and even more so when Sony deny it's existence if its as widespread as you say.
