Topic: PS4 shuts down during file transfers

Hi,

My brother has a 500gb PS4 for 14 months. He has a lot of video and photo files and had bought a USB to transfer the videos and photos off for space. Since trying this with the external USB device his PS4 will shut down when transferring and he says he has to turn off the power mains to then get it to turn back on. Recently he has bought a dock/cooling system thinking it was overheating but his issue still happens. He has checked his USB on his computer and found that a lot of files are not on there so he has lost a lot of the video files. He said he had to do a system update recently which I think was around the time the PS5 has come out and he isnt sure if it began happening around the same time.

Any help or information on what to do would be greatly appreciated.
