Alright so I have this annoying problem when on remote connection to my PS4. The network setup is really good. I'm running a 1000/1000 Mbit/s connection in my apartment where the console is operating. It's connected through a TP-cable directly to my home router.
In the other house I have a 250/100 Mbit/s connection with excellent quality. This is probably not part of the problem but I just want to mention the prerequisites.
The problem:
When connected, the stream will freeze for at few seconds and then continue flawless for about a minute. I have clocked this with a stopwatch, it's almost always exacly one minute between the freezings. Then this behavior will repeat over and over again. I've tried different networks on the remote end, also changing the graphics in the PS4 Remote Play-app. It doesn't matter if I run the worst or the best resolution. The freeze-loop is consistent.
Now since I'm about an 8-hour drive from my Ps4, I can't really do much about it. However I have remotely rebooted my home router a few times without any progress. Also I have remotely rebooted the PS4 console, but no luck. I've tried the Ps4 remote play app on several devices, and the result is the same. So I guess I have located the problem to either the console itself or my home network in the apartment where I have the console hooked up.
Does anyone have any idea or tricks to solve this? I found a Reddit post mentioning disconnecting the HDMI-cable. Unfortunately I'm too far away to try that one out.
The console it self automatically opened most of the mandatory ports in my router though UPnP. However, it did not manage to enable all UDP-ports to be forwarded. I manually opened up ports 9296 (udp), and 3478, 3479 and 3480 (tcp-udp).
Since I did this configuration it has been working flawless.
