Topic: Ps3 shuts down

Hi everyone new to the site was hoping I could get some help with a ps3 problem I have
When my ps3 updates in the morning it beeps 3 times then turns off and flashes the power light red also when I play uncharted 2 platinum it only plays the game for about 10 minutes then shuts the console down and again beeps 3 times and flashes the power light red
I've tried watching a DVD and playing other games (uncharted 1,borderlands) and it seems to be fine when I try that but every time i put uncharted 2 in to play same happens again and again
Does anyone have any idea what it could be causing this please ?
The ps3 is a fat 80g console upgraded (when i bought it) to 300gb

Sounds to me like an issues with the HDD.
First of all I'd unplug the console, then remove and re-insert the HDD after few minutes.
