I bought my PS3 in Australia, I'm now in Nairobi Kenya, when I try to sign into PSN I'm automatically logged out. I want to redownload games I purchased but can't. I also want to purchase new games from the store but can't.

First things first, you say that you cannot even sign into PSN, correct?
In that case it isn’t a store issue, check your internet settings and also note that (I think) there was an O/S update in the recent months so you might need to update that.

As a footnote, I used the store yesterday and today without issues,

1.Account details, syncing, etc. with PSN
2.WiFi chip on PS3
3.Ethernet port
4.Clock battery
5.OS firmware
6.Internet/Network settings (easy, complicated if you know more, if not select easy not custom)
7.Modem/Router/Access Point settings or connections
8.Any other factors that may apply in software, firmware or hardware.

@CaptD I can watch youtube, not an internet issue

@SuntannedDuck2 Like whether it's PSN or the PS Store I can't login, wifi is fine I can watch youtube and it has the latest update. My PS3 is a PS3 SuperSlim. I tried resetting the password on my account and even using two factor authentication/disabling 2 factor authentication but it didn't work. Tried trouble shooting with chat gpt but none of the solutions worked. I think it might be an account region locked thing or something

Maybe there’s no servers or discontinued support for that region

@Chillwave
What is error code 80023017 on PS3?

Error 80023017 on PS3 typically relates to authentication failures. Ensure your console's date and time settings are correct, as mismatches can cause login issues. If prompted for QR code scanning, verify the linked mobile device's app is updated and properly connected.

Also, if you have changed Email Address this can pose' this error as well.

@Chillwave I remember Vita having this but I forget if the PS3 also had a temp code that generates on the PlayStation website you need to get to sync it to PSN.

That might be what it is. I forgot I did it for my Vita but haven't my PS3 yet.

So if the timezone/date is good and the account/email are fine it's likely the code you need to generate.
