The game on PS4 works just fine, but the controller sound doesn't. You're supposed to hear the sound of the water hose from the speaker in the controller and up until this morning, it worked great. But this morning, the sound will start like it's supposed to, but after a few seconds, the sound stops.

The little "clicky" sound that happens when you change the orientation of the hose nozzle seems to be fine, but that's only for the split second when you change the orientation. The water sound, however, is supposed to be constant.

Has anyone encountered this ? I noticed that when I turned on my PS4 this morning, the game had been updated. Maybe that's what's wrong ? A bugged update ?

@Spottedfeather Given the proximity of the game's latest update then yeah, I'd wait and see if the next patch fixes the issue. These kinds of minor bugs and glitches in ongoing / live service games are fairly common after each update. Hitman used to regularly fix one issue by causing two others.

That being said, I'd recommend testing your controller's speaker on another game (if possible) just to make sure it's not your hardware. And then send a bug report to the PWS developers.

I don't have any other games that use the controller for sound....at least I don't think I do. I have Red Faction, Star Wars Racer, Pac-Man Championship, Bioshock collection, Friday The 13th...do any of them have controller sound ? I haven't noticed.

@Spottedfeather Apologies for the delay. Unfortunately, I don't think any of those games use the controller's speaker (and checked Google for those I wasn't sure about).

I'm not seeing any other widespread bug reports for this specific issue. I'd recommend waiting for the game's next update and seeing if the problem persists. Additionally, you could always try going to your controller's settings menu on the PS4 itself (Settings > Devices > Controllers) and adjusting the speaker's volume sliders, as it might play a test sound whenever you make a change.

@RogerRoger I know that Alien Isolation uses the controller for sound, but that doesn't help. THAT game only uses it for intermittant sounds...like a click from a position tracker, that only lasts a moment. As far as I know, Power Wash SHOULD have constant sound of spraying water from the controller...unless I'm just remembering it wrong. It just hit me one day when I was playing that the sound didn't keep going for more than a few seconds. It's not a big deal...just something I noticed.

@Spottedfeather Many games use the speaker for collectible audio logs or incoming comms chatter. It scared the heck out of me first time it happened, in Killzone: Shadow Fall. The new Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster also uses it to double up blaster fire sound effects.
