Dear All,

I would like to ask for your help.

I experience drifting with my right analog stick randomly. For example, today i played Horizon and while aiming the controller was drifting and when I released L2 the drifting stopped. I also experienced random drifting with FFVII remake, but never with rocketleague. I hard reseted my controller, cleaned it, ( Without disassembling it.) tried it with Bluetooth connection and wired connection as well, but problem still remains. Did anyone experienced something similar or better yet found a solution?

Games are totally playable, but it is annoying.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks:

@Csesztes I had the same problem with the DualShock 4 controller. It was fine until I pulled down the L2 and then the character would start drifting forward and often lead me to falling off of things. It was also most noticeable on Horizon for me as well. I never did find a solution to it but just learned to not pull the trigger down all the way.

Thank @render for your input. Much appreciated. I will experiment with this.
Anyone else had similar issue or found a solution besides buysing a new dualshock?

I can verify that the intensity which you push the L2 button when the drifting occurs has an impact on the drifting. I tested this with horizon and when I pushed down the button fully it drifted with "full speed", but when I pushed it slightly the drift was much slower or non existent at all. Problem is sometimes it still drifts without touching the L2 button.

@Csesztes Sounds like exactly the same problem I had but perhaps you've got it worse. If yours is still in the warranty period then it might be worth getting in touch with Sony. Mine wasn't and as I could work around it I just lived with it. Another option might be to look on YouTube to see if there's any videos of how to fix the issue.

Thank you @render for your info.

Actually I found youtube videos explaining the "L2 drifting" issue. In most cases cleaning the analog is the key. I tried to take apart the controller, but I could not. I am not very good at mechanical stuff, so I figured until it gets out of hand I will leave it as it is, but after a certain point I will ask somebody to do the cleaning.
