Has anyone else experienced their PS5 console randomly going into rest mode as of late? Regardless which game I'm playing the screen will just go grey/black and say "Now entering rest mode" and power down. I've already checked and configured the settings to never enter rest mode no matter the lenght of inactivity time but does not seem to help? Would love to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem and may have an explanation or solution.

This has happened to me since the day I got the PS5. If I turn on my PS5, then I turn my television onto the correct channel, the the Playstation goes into rest mode. So I always have to turn the TV on first.

@Kidfunkadelic83 Rebuilding the database does not remove/delete saved game data on the console correct? Or am I wrong about that?

@LieutenantFatman Does it go into rest mode immediately for yourself? I could have a game on 30 mins or over an hour, no specific time frame but will enter rest mode regardless

@Downey1991 your right mate, it doesnt πŸ‘
It just cleans us broken files, files that can be left dormant in the system fter deleting games etc. Basically it just tidies up the HDD, increases storage and can fix errors and issues similar to a defrag on a pc. You wont lose any data. To be fair on a ps5 you shouldn't notice the benefit of a system restore as there isnt going to be much data to clear down but when i had my ps4 full of stuff on a 3tb HDD i used to do a rebuild every 2 months or so. As i stated tho it can fix issues so worth a go if my comment below doesnt help.

@LieutenantFatman @Downey1991 turn off HDMI link if its on. Settings> System> HDMI
When i turned on my tv it used to tun on my ps5 etc and just act weird. It used to boil my piss. Its a setting that is set up in the initial first boot up so you guys might have selected it like i did. Turned it off and no more weird ***** for me. May not be connected but worth a shot. Could be a blip in your TV signal that telling you ps5 to go in to rest mode πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Yeah some weird stuff can happen with the HDMI link function. It’s kinda handy since you can control your PS5 dashboard with your TV remote and it makes using some apps easier as a result, but it can end up doing random things. I had to disable mine a while ago.
