I had COD Modern Warfare as a disc then sold it. I have ordered it online but it still says i need to open it up with a disc. Do i need to delete the game off my storage and then re-download it. I am also worried about losing the data from my previous time on it
@ChrisAsh96 If you still have the disc-based version of the game installed, hover over it and press the Options button, then upload your save data to the cloud. If you've uninstalled the game, you can do this via a slightly more convoluted method, by going through your PS4's settings and finding the Application Saved Data Management menu. Doing this protects any progress you'll have made before; your saves should stay on your PS4 regardless, but this is a useful back-up just in case.
And then yes, delete the disc-based version of the game. You can do this via the System Storage Management menu, finding it listed under Applications and then pressing Options to delete it. Once it's gone, you can go to your Library and download the digital version of the game you purchased.
Your saves should work with it, and the Call of Duty servers should recognise your username anyway, providing you haven't missed any patches or updates.
Apologies for all the emphasis, but there's a (small) chance you'll have to start the game again.
