Topic: My DS4 has an annoying problem, it's almost affecting every game I play. Please help!

I've had this DS4 for a year now and it's the Gran Turismo controller, I haven't exactly found the exact problem it has but I know how it affects gameplay, always when I'm holding down the left analog stick up (in a 3d game) the character would stutter while walking, kinda like walking like the stick is fully down (which it is) then start stuttering by walking like im holding it down halfway (which I'm not) and quickly shifting back to fully walking again, this has affected almost all games from The Last of Us to Horizon Zero Dawn (which I just got and made me make this post). Also I have a Spiderman controller which has a problem that when moving the left analog stick left or right it would immidiately go up, without even touching it towards up, does anyone know a solution? I opened it and fixed it for about a few days and it started happening again. This has affected a lot of games.

@ReduxT Sounds like you're getting a lot of dust or dirt on the "ball" of the stick, and it's working its way down into the sensors which track the stick's movement, giving them tiny intermittent faults (this is simply the most common cause of these issues; I say this without judgement on how you handle your controllers).

It's rare to get two controllers with similar issues, but at least there's a commonality there, so I wouldn't say that there's anything wrong with your console. I'd suggest cleaning them again, and then being extra-careful about the conditions in which you keep them.

Otherwise, I'm way off-base. If so, I apologise, and can only suggest buying a replacement.

@ReduxT I have the same controller (now stored in a drawer in case my other pads break) and had a weird issue develop. I would press L1 and it would register as a forward movement. For most games this wasn't a major issue, more an annoyance especially in FPS, until I bought Dreams when you click L1 all the time and that pad got shelved double quick.

Maybe it's a bad batch. It's funny you mentioned it's the gran Turismo pad, mines silver and looks great!
