Topic: How to add recovered save files to ps4 harddrive?

Hi guys, so recently I accidently deleted some files in ps4 and lost some DLC content and a game. Ended up using diskdrill to recover it. I couldn't put the save files back directly into the ps4 hard drive because my computer cannot detect the hard drive(oddly enough the disk drill program was able to detect it via the software). I tried putting the save files in a usb flash drive and used the "recover save file from usb" but ps4 couldn't detect the save file.

Any ideas on what to do to add the save files back into the hard drive? Would burning an image onto the USB work? or is there a way to save the file to the usb in the same format as ps4 would do it, so that it's detectable?

Have you set a folder on the USB drive?

PlayStation 4 normally needs the files to be laid out like this for the PS4 to pick up and copy, when I had this problem I had to make a folder,.

PS4>Game Name>Saved Data.

If that does not work I would suggest a support call.

@Hatsune_Miku Thanks a lot. I made a save file backup to usb to see the format and it had a different file name. "savedata" vs. what i recovered "filename.psafe3". Tried changing the name to savedata and it showed as corrupted file on the ps4. Hmm, looks like im out of luck.

Sorry for late reply! Too busy gaming recently!

If that did not work then I am not sure there is much else you can do there, a bit frustrating all round, not that I've had corrupted data but I did once 'rage' and delete a full game save of a game I like (Miku no less) and now I regret not having a backup!

@Hatsune_Miku That's ok! Yep it surely sucks a** to lose an entire game.

I'll just have to buy it again if i really miss the dlcs etc. Thanks again for stopping by and helping!
