Topic: Help with account transfer

Hey all! I just bought a new PS4. My son has taken over my previous PS4. He's still using my user name. My questions are:

1. How do I transfer all of MY data from the old PS4 to the new one?
2. Can I take back my username & assign him a new username, without him losing important data? Don't really care about trophies, etc.

Any help/insight would be great, thanks!!

You can transfer everything quite easily in the settings but if you still want your son to have access to your games the simplest thing to do is create a new account on your old PS4 for him and just sign in to your account on your new one

Only issue you might have is that as your new PS4 won't be your accounts "home" console you will have to be online to use your content

And you will have to redownload everything manually

He will also not have access to any game saves he had under your account

Thanks for the response. So let's say I transfer all of my games from the old PS4 to the new one, assign my username to my new PS4, and create a new username for him & the old PS4. Would he lose all of his progress in Fortnite?

If the answer to that is yes, then it's probably better for me to bite the bullet & create a new username for myself instead? I don't have as much committed right now.

@JetCovex well i don't play Fortnite but as far as i'm aware all your existing progress, save data and items live with your Epic account, and not on your PSN ID so he should be able to carry over to a new account

best bet is to try and see, creating a new PSN ID is simple and free, create one on your original PS4 for him and see if he can log into his old account on it, if not then do as you said and create a new account for yourself on the new PS4 and let him have your old one

Also, I believe you are correct that all Fortnite data lives with Epic, not PSN. Good callout.
