Topic: Getting a controller recognised while in safe mode.

My PS4 console crashed a while back and wouldnt even switch on. this resulted in me buying a new one, I synchronised my old controller to the new console so I would have 2.
Now Im trying to fix the old console again and have managed to get it into safe mode, but its asking me to connect the dualshock 4 using the USB cable and the press the PS button. the problem is the controller is not being recognised and I cant get to the safe 1-7 menu any Ideas?

@DaveH try different cables. That was my first thought and a quick google seems to say the same worked for others experiencing that issue.

Hey guys, first time here, but I was just wondering if you had any luck figuring this out? I’ve had the same problem for about a week now with no luck. I’m sure I’ve tried 30 cords by this point.
