Topic: External Hard drive query

Hi

My friend asked me to order an external hard drive for him from Amazon, which I did however due to current global circumstances I have unfortunately been unable to get it to him.

He is now asking me if I would test it out on my own PS4 to make sure it works. I also currently have an external hard drive of my own that I use with it. My query is will he still be able to use the one I ordered for him on his PS4 after iv'e tried it out on my own, after it's been reformatted or what not. We're not sharing accounts and i'm not looking to transfer any stuff from my console to his or anything like that, effectively it would just be like i'm handing him over a used hard drive. Is this doable? I'm a bit worried that after i've set it up on mine it wont then work on his.

Thanks very much for any advice you can offer.

As long as you reformat it after you test it out you should be good. Just make sure none of your data is on it when you reformat it otherwise it will be gone for good.

I had a HD on my PS4 but needed a bigger one. When I got the bigger one I transfered the data to the new one, and used the smaller on on my Xbox One now and it works fine.
