Topic: CD tray not working

Hey everyone...first post so be kind:)

so my 3yr old boy dropped my ps4, and since then, games on disc, and movies won't work at all.
Either the ps4 won't accept the cd or ebem if it does it says unrecognizable disc.
I've tried safe mode restart ps4
safe mode update ps4 via internet
and I've removed the cd tray itself given it a clean but to no avail thus far.
any help appreciated.

fyi: the ps4 works perfect in every other way.

I forgot to mention I did try rebuild database already but to no avail.
just a thought, since I created this post, I had a quick look on Amazon for CD trays to buy....it looks like a new ps4 cd unit is around the 50note mark.
So now I'm 50/50 about ordering 1...don't want to spend too much sending ps4 off to someone to be charged 100+ quid for a system I'll be upgrading later in the year....(ps5 hopefully)

yeah I heard ya about the wait til Xmas....the fallout, economically, from this covid19 will be immense and surely will have to affect the release of the ps5.
Time will tell.
As long as people use their brains and adhere to social distancing, hopefully we can put this terrible virus to bed sooner rather than later
