Topic: Are PS5 versions on their own network ?

I noticed when I turn cross-play off , i'm only matched with other people on PS5's . But when I turn on cross-play , I find players on PS4 . This happens when I play PS5 versions of games online.

But if I play the PS4 version on PS5 - I'm matched with PS4 players .

Are PS5 versions on a separate network ?

@kyleforrester87 because of player-count & finding specific/players lobbies faster .

i wan't to know if playing a different version affects matchmaking .

@nomither6 sounds like you confirmed it affects matchmaking already though. Not sure anyone here could answer your question with any certainty. Goodluck!
