GreedFall II: The Dying World is the first sequel Spiders Studio has ever made, but based on a new IGN preview, the RPG still appears to be very much its own thing. Not only is it actually a prequel to the first game, but the combat system has been completely changed. Taking inspiration from BioWare RPG Dragon Age: Origins, you'll slow down time and queue up actions for your party to utilise rather than engage in real-time hack-and-slash fights.

Detailed in the clip above, you can pause the action at any time and give out orders to your party members, then resume the passage of time to see those commands carried out. Dragon Age: Origins is directly cited as a game it's attempting to emulate in GreedFall II, giving players a slower, more methodical combat system. Overall, it's suggested the game has a more "old school" feel.

What do you make of this significant change to the series' combat system? Does it make you more or less excited for the follow-up? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
