There's A Heartbeat Monitor That Comes With The Game. DUDE!
Is it wrong that we’re stoked for EA Sports Active 2.0? EA Sports’ foray into the fitness field was previously a Wii-exclusive, but the company have announced today that the game will hit Playstation 3 with a few neat little peripherals to boot.
The game will launch with two motion sensors and a heartbeat monitor (amazing, right?) when it launches in the Fall. “Players” will be able to share user information via the Playstation Network, allowing your friends to check out your progress (or non-progress) and presumably spur you on.
Playstation Motion Controller support hasn’t been mentioned, but we’re assuming it’s a given.
Tiger Woods 11 Will Feature Playstation Motion Controller Support.
Stocks in Tiger Woods may have dropped in recent months, but golf video games with well implemented motion controls have become no less fun. Thus, it’s extremely exciting to hear that Tiger Woods 11 will include support for Sony’s upcoming Playstation Motion Controller to “give gamers an authentic interactive swing experience”.
There aren’t any concrete details on the implementation yet, however the game is pledged to release on June 8th, a fair few months before Sony’s Playstation Motion Controller is due.
What to say about FIFA World Cup 2010 – it’s a FIFA game designed to cash-in on this year’s World Cup. The difference being – FIFA games are actually properly amazing these days, suggesting even if it’s only a small enhancement over FIFA 10, it’s still going to be really fun.
Plus this trailer has amazing music. Makes us feel all summery, despite the freezing temperatures outside.
EA Sports Active: Apparently Much Better Than It Looks.
It’s pretty much official at this point: EA Sports Active is heading to the Playstation 3. Speaking at a financial call last night, EA’s John Schappert confirmed that the Wii exclusive is heading to “multiple platforms.” Careful use of words there John, but we’re totally going to assume you mean “Playstation 3″. Yes.
Playstation Motion Controller Is Very Different To Wii According To EA Sports' Peter Moore.
Smashing consensus that Sony’s Playstation Motion Controller is a “Wii copy”, EA Sports’ Peter Moore has claimed the experience with Sony’s device is “different” to that with Nintendo’s.
“It’s a different experience than Wii and we’re watching it with great interest. As you might imagine, we’re working on stuff – in particular on what sports can bring to it,” said Moore.
“One thing we’ve learnt with the Wii is that we can afford [to spend time on building bespoke games]. The two that stand out in terms of authentic sports motion on Wii are golf and tennis. If you can capture that motion, that brings the game to life in a very unique way. We’re looking at how we bring that sports credibility and authenticity to life with Sony’s new platform.”
The Playstation Motion Controller is rumoured to be called the “Arc”, but Sony are yet to announce anything on that front.
Remember the excellent “Ultimate Team” DLC for FIFA 09? We gave it 3/4 and were quite taken with it earlier this year. Well, EA have just announced an updated version of the DLC for FIFA 10. The DLC has been made over with a “redesigned chemistry system built around player relationships”. The DLC’s coming in February and will cost just $4.99 from the American PSN. Expect it around the £5 in the UK.
