Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Can Probably Be Considered A Success.
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: a military, multiplayer shooter has sold a ton of copies in Europe and the US. That’s right: EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has mustered sales of over 2.3 million over the last couple of weeks.
Interestingly, aswell as the hard sales figures, EA has provided some more light-hearted facts pertaining to the game’s success, such as 81 billion points racked up in multiplayer games, 6 million video views on YouTube and in the past 24 hours, 2.9 million hours have been spent playing online. Impressive stuff.
EA has announced that the third iteration of their skateboarding game Skate 3 will launch in May. They’ve pitched the game for a release of the 11th in America and 14th in the UK.
We can confirm that the game has skateboards in it.
Harmonix’s CEO Alex Rigopulos has stated that Rock Band 3 will be a “big step forward” for the series when it launches later in 2010.
The exec told GameRant that gamer’s can expect a big reveal at this year’s E3:
“Unfortunately I can’t say anything about Rock Band 3 at this point except that it’s coming this fall and it’s a big step forward for Rock Band,” said Rigopulos.
“This has been a two-year development cycle on this title and it’s a pretty significant level up from where we’ve been. We’re pretty excited about unveiling it at E3 this year. Holiday 2010 release.”
In all likelihood, it will probably showcase during Microsoft’s E3 conference if past performance is anything to go by. Still, we fully expect the game on PS3 and are excited to see where the franchise goes.
Oh look – it’s a new trailer for Medal Of Honor. It features guns, shooting and some American-dude talking about war and stuff. It looks a lot like Call Of Duty. Which is actually a good thing we suppose. Though we kind of wish someone would make a shooter about big monsters and stuff instead of military men. Oh well.
EA’s released some new screenshots for their Medal Of Honor reboot which you can catch over at Joystiq. We’d love to offer some insightful commentary, but they look exactly like you’d expect them to. It’s Medal Of Honor in a post-Call Of Duty era.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on Playstation 3 Review.
The variety in Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s campaign make it a worthwhile experience, despite the bummer ending. Ultimately though, you’ll want to buy Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for its outstanding multiplayer.
There's A Heartbeat Monitor That Comes With The Game. DUDE!
Is it wrong that we’re stoked for EA Sports Active 2.0? EA Sports’ foray into the fitness field was previously a Wii-exclusive, but the company have announced today that the game will hit Playstation 3 with a few neat little peripherals to boot.
The game will launch with two motion sensors and a heartbeat monitor (amazing, right?) when it launches in the Fall. “Players” will be able to share user information via the Playstation Network, allowing your friends to check out your progress (or non-progress) and presumably spur you on.
Playstation Motion Controller support hasn’t been mentioned, but we’re assuming it’s a given.
