Mortal Kombat 1 has, surprisingly, been somewhat overshadowed by the success of Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 – but it’s still a great game in its own right. NetherRealm Studios naturally has always had robust support plans for the release, and that will continue with the addition of guest character Peacemaker from 28th February.

The newcomer will be available to Kombat Pack owners on the abovementioned date, before being introduced to everyone on 6th March. “Peacemaker, featuring the voice and likeness of actor John Cena, is based on DC’s The Suicide Squad film and Peacemaker series on Max,” the official blurb reads. “Peacemaker, also known as Christopher Smith, cherishes peace with all his heart and will kill anyone and everyone necessary to get it.”

The summary continues: “In the new video, Peacemaker is ready to challenge Liu Kang’s New Era of peace and is equipped with a formidable moveset incorporating the character’s expert gunslinging skills, signature helmet abilities, and loyal bald eagle sidekick, Eagly, all complemented by his legendary dance moves and brash humour.”

Peacemaker’s addition will be accompanied by a new Kameo named Janet Cage, who’s an alternate reality version of Johnny. Harrowing! You can check out both newcomers in action courtesy of the trailer embedded above.
