The Suika Game is coming to PS5 and PS4 – but not the Suika Game. Fans spotted a PS Store listing for the fruity puzzler, which is published by GoGame Console Publisher. Crucially, this is not the organisation behind the uber-popular Nintendo Switch version. In fact, in a statement to Eurogamer.net, developer Aladdin X revealed it has “no affiliation” with whatever version of the title this appears to be.
“We are aware that [The Suika Game] appeared on the PS Store, but we have no affiliation with [The] Suika Game,” a spokesperson explained. “So, the game has nothing to do with our Suika Game!”
Reading the description of this PlayStation rip-off, it sounds basically identical: “Create mesmerising chain reactions by merging identical fruits, building up to the ultimate Watermelon – not only a points bonanza but also a container-consuming giant. Unlike typical puzzle games, The Suika Game has no time limit, allowing strategic planning for optimal stacking.”
We looked up GoGame Console Publisher, and it appears the firm is based in Romania. Obviously, the misleading name could cause potential legal issues here, but we’ll have to wait and see. As of right now, though, it looks like The Suika Game (not, as we mentioned before, the Suika Game) will launch on PS5 and PS4 in the near future.

I’m pretty sure you can’t circumvent copyright by putting the in front of the name of the thing you’re stealing. I doubt this is going to pass certification.
I wonder it passed certification. ...but if you go to January Sale and filter "Full Game", "Game bundle" and "Bundle" than switch listing to Price Low-Hi you'll be shocked what has passed and consider SONY care no more what is on PS Store...

Clearly an attempt at passing off, which will be for the developers to fight it out. Until the original makes a claim against the other and seeks to have it removed from PSN, it's not really Sony's concern.
But that being said, I had never heard of this game and am presently enjoying a web-browser version. Oddly compelling for such a simple concept.
This makes us even for the godawful Last of Us rip off that was on the Eshop.
The outcome of this will probably help me decide whether or not to finally release my new game, Residential Evil.
The PS Store has gone the same way that the eShop and Steam went before it. Absolute rubbish on the ‘new games’ section that is buried by the front page recommendations of the big games, which only serves to make games like Bear and Breakfast fly completely under the radar.
Approaching Nintendo eShop level of cringe 😬 but somehow the switch is more suited to this mobile phone kind of games

Funcharted - A light-hearted romp through the world of whimsical mapmaking.
The Last of Fuss - A bleak, torture driven single player game focussing on one man's OCD to ensure that the things in his apartment are EXACTLY where they should be at all times. Especially if people don't move them. And they have to use coasters.

@GamingFan4Lyf I'm in. NinPlayGa BoxDreamStation 64 sounds better though. 5 controller ports and an additional rumble pack. And it should play cartridges so that we can release a CD add-on 2 years after launch.
@__jamiie Why wait 2 years?! Like 6 months later we release the CD version that can’t be attached so they have to buy a whole new unit with the CD capability. We also stop supporting the original model.
Also, the CD version requires 2 plugs.
