The UK's physical game sales for the week are in, and it's Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales doing the business for Sony yet again. It appears as though this performance was driven by replenished PlayStation 5 stock, as the game sold 83 per cent of its copies on the new console. It remains in second place.
The Last of Us: Part II, which re-entered the chart at number three last week, drops to 11th. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War moves up a few positions to fifth, as does Grand Theft Auto V, moving to seventh. Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been just outside the top 10 for a couple of weeks, but returns in 10th this time.
Outside of the top 10, Demon's Souls is on the rise, jumping from 21st to 17th, and the PS5 version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon sees it re-enter the top 40 in, er, 35th.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.

Congrat for insomniac spidey mm
Horizon forward west cross-gen seems not a good decision now, we still have ps5 stock situations and yet most of the spidey mm (and even 3rd party games like hitman 3) sales is on ps5, if horizon fw launch in the end of this year I think maybe it only sells 5-10% on ps4. The only exception is indies, gaas, cod and sport titles.
Every new gen most games company seems to forget this.
I really hope to get a PS5 fast. Can't wait to play Miles Morales. I know I can get it on the PS4 but already got the 5 version laying in a corner calling at me...
Curious to see how the next gen version of GTA V is going to sell. Seems like almost everyone must own it now.
@wiiware I think Horizon will have a ps5 version as free if you buy ps4 version. They are going to sell like gang busters.
@TheDudeElDuderino Miles Morales has a free upgrade with the PS4 version and the PS5 version still sells much better
@TheDudeElDuderino Yeah just like spider-man mm, but I think the game will be better if it's a full next-gen titles that use ps5 full capability and not chained to old 7 years ps4 hardware, and by the time the game release at the end of this year (if it's not delayed), most of day one buying gamers will be on ps5.
@Voltan Doesn't the PS5 version also come with a Remaster of Spider-Man? I had to buy the version with that myself even though I have Spider-Man Collectors edition on PS4.
@BAMozzy there's the PS5 version and then there's the PS5 Ultimate Edition which includes the remaster. However, if you get the regular one or the PS4 one and upgrade, you can still get the remaster through an in-game purchase.
Think Yakuza like a dragon will be my next purchase. Started playing FF remake yesterday and really enjoying it so far, wasn't expecting to like it tbh but to my surprise played a good 5hrs yday lol. So finish that then either Yakuza or returnal next for me.
@Voltan not the point I am trying to make. PS4 still has a huge install base. If you are anyway making a version for it and don't want to kill ps4 sales with all the people who are waiting to upgrade to ps5, it will be sold the same way as Miles.
@wiiware in an ideal world, yes, and I wish it was so, next Horizon PS5 only. Still, keep in mind that this console gen transition is nothing like the ones before. PS4 and ps5 are much closer than any two previous playstation consoles, and I can imagine Horizon development which scales properly to ps5 capabilities without being bogged down by ps4 restrictions.
@TheDudeElDuderino On the bright side, ps4 and ps5 cross-gen means ps5 version definitely have 60 fps support ๐
@TheDudeElDuderino - sure HFW will look better, run better, and maybe use some of the controller haptics, but fundamentally its design will be a compromise based on what is possible on a PS4. you can see this quite clearly in a cross-gen game like outriders for example - where the placing of (very frequent) cutscenes are obviously designed to hide background loading.
@Martijn87 If GTA V looks proper PS5 gen version with massive visual updates I'll probably end up buying it. Only got about 50% through on PS4 so would be interested in giving it another go. I'm very much ready for an awesome open world game and was hoping Cyberpunk would have been that but it sounds awful and the YouTube Cyberpunk vs GTAV videos make GTA V still look better.
You must really hate me right now
Itโs soooooooo annoying having Miles morales (got for Xmas) but canโt play it cos I canโt get hold of a PS5 ๐
@Daleaf haven't got round to downloading FF7R yet...put off a bit by the fact it's only part 1 of however many games they can stretch it to? Don't like incomplete/open endings very much in games.
Did play the original when it first came out though, and it was one of my favourite games of the PS1 gen.
Well done, Miles.
@Martijn87
People are going to triple dip and buy it again and it will rise back to Number 1 on the Charts 8 years after releass.
@ShiningStar I was the same about it not being completed version, but since it was free on plus decided to give it a go.
I never played it on ps one wasn't into those games at the time so they passed me by lol. And only played a couple of the FF games, some I have liked and others not so much. I just hope it doesn't finish on a cliffhanger as I don't think the next will be out for a few years and I will be annoyed.
I bought Spider-man Miles Morales along with Spider-man remaster. Yes it was $10 more for a game I had played but I still enjoyed playing the remaster once again on PS5.
@StonyKL
Not at all. I also never finished it on PS4, and if it's a decent upgrade I'll end up buying it as well.
@Netret0120
It will be a great achievement if they can pull that off.
It needs to stop selling so well. That way Sony will put it on sale for $20 and I can buy it on my PS4
