Fast 9 has been pushed back a year following the Coronavirus outbreak, and that could have a knock-on effect on the franchise's video game spin-off. Originally planned to launch alongside the movie, Fast & Furious Crossroads' May 2020 release on PlayStation 4 has now been called into question as Codemasters recently issued a statement saying it is "uncertain" when the title will release after the ninth film instalment's delay.
The developer said: "Timing for the launch of the Game is now uncertain but, provided the Company releases the F&F Game in Q1 of FY21, the Board anticipates that the later release date of the F9 Film will not have a material impact on its financial expectations for FY21."
It remains to be seen whether or not the game itself will also find a release date in 2021. We will, of course, bring you the latest news on a new launch date whenever it is announced. Were you looking forward to Fast & Furious Crossroads? Stay on the starting line for a little longer in the comments below.
