It's almost that time of year again. The Game Awards show is Geoff Keighley's baby, and it's of course returning once again next month. The glitzy awards ceremony should be an entertaining watch, potentially with a few announcements punctuating the applause and the speeches.
But it is, first and foremost, about the awards, and Keighley has announced that the nominees for all categories will be revealed next week, on 13th November at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT.
This year has seen the release of countless games worthy of recognition, so we'll be very interested to see which games are up for the various gongs this time around. Red Dead Redemption 2 may sweep the entire show, but we like to think we'll see a good mix of titles represented in the nominees. Which games do you think are worthy of nomination at The Game Awards 2018? Pray that Josef Fares has a new game to talk about in the comments below.

God of War is still unequivocally my game of the year. That game blew me away on every level that a game can.
There will be only two nominees that count really.
Still catching up and haven't played any 2018 game yet on PS4.
It will probably be RDR2 anyway.

If it all Goes to red read then it Will be a rather boring show since that is the most obvious winner already.
but if this show is about fairness and honesty then GOW simply has to win a couple of awards aswell,it Will be a sellout if only red read is the game with all the attention. Not that it does not deserve it(it does) but i just hope that the show wont all of a sudden forget the other obvious winners just because of a rockstar game.
For me, it's MHW with DQXI and VC4 being close contenders..... but GOW and RDR2 will probably win majority of the awards.
God of War and Red Dead for basically everything.

Yeah, wasn’t PUBG one of last year’s nominees? I wonder if they would like a “do-over” on that one.
As much as I am enjoying RDR2, I would really like it for a PS Exlcusive to win GOTY. No doubt it will be either RDR2 or GOW. I hope if GOW doesnt get GOTY it at least gets some other awards

Of course they will not give an award for a Sony exclusive again.
This is the award that nominated PUBG, an unfinished game, as a game of the year contender.
In 2013, they gave it to GTA V instead of The Last of Us.
In 2016, they gave it to Overwatch (lmao) instead of Uncharted 4.
Anyway, The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 had more GOTY awards overall, this mediocre show is not that special after all.
I think this show this year will be the Sony Game Awards With Announcements sprinkled around for other platforms
Since THAT company that has that box with the X on it didn’t have many outstanding acclaimed titles this year. One buggy to some disappointing Zombie game sequel, one unfinished disappointing Pirate game from a company that is a shell of its former self, one racing game, and that it.
THAT other company w a underpowered Tablet has only released a few GaaS games, some Multiplayer games, some disappointing games, and lots of expensive ports also a party/fighting (although to some the latter well... that is arguable) game that makes me think of PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale and want a sequel... BADLY!
Finally you got Sony with... The Game of the Generation God of War 2018 (or 4 whatever floats your boat), Detroit: Become Human, the greatest Superhero game out there w one of the greatest Superheroes known to all: Spider Man, Marvel’s Spider Man. I know it’s only 3 games but I can see at least 2 of these games sweeping up a good few awards!
There’s a few 3rd Party games that were good like Red Dead Redemption 2, Soul Calibur VI, Monster Hunter World, etc. But most likely it’s gonna be Sony that’s gonna take some awards and the GoTY award quite possibly!
If you’re wondering why I think Sony w 2-3 titles can get a buncha awards. Well look at last year... THAT other company easily took a buncha awards w 1-2 titles w thier usual franchises plus look at all the acclaim GoW & Spider Man got from gamers and critics alike. Yes RDR2 got critically acclaimed too but it’s still possible GoW/Spidey/Detroit: BH more likely the other 2 will take home some awards maybe even GoTY.

Agree. I'm enjoying Red Dead Redemption 2, I love the two Yakuza games but God of War is the best game I've played in 2018. RDR 2 will take most of the awards but it doesn't diminish what Sony Santa Monica accomplished. They made massive changes to the GoW formula but still made it feel familiar and redeemed a character many considered unlikeable. It was a brilliant job by Cory Barlog and co. Very happy he returned and convinced Sony to let him revive the IP.
My personal pick for GOTY is Yakuza Kiwami 2. I really enjoyed Red Dead Redemption 2 and also thought the dev's did a great job with God Of War. But, there is no telling what the awards will actually go to.
