Crikey, Gamescom 2018 is shaping up to be a cracker. We’ve already got confirmation that titles like Devil May Cry 5 will be playable at the Cologne convention, and here’s news that FromSoftware’s upcoming samurai outing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be joining it.
“How you make the kill is incidental, as long as you make it yours,” a spokesperson for the game tweeted on the title’s official Twitter account. “Get hands-on at Gamescom 2018.” We can’t wait to see more of this one when the German show gets underway from 21st August.

@LaNooch1978 Tough boss? Why don't you buy a nice microtransaction to help you with it. It's not like it will be full of them bosses.
@LaNooch1978 yeah this has activision micro trans written all over it, want a starting class? $5 bucks, straight sword? $5 bucks, to be honest im more pissed at FromSoft for selling out to activision should have stuck with Bandai or Sony
Flying samurai? Aren't samurai all about honour and face offs? Ninja maybe. Or native Americans. Or post apocalyptic females. They've lost me already.
cant wait.word up son
Looking good so far
Can't wait to see more of this.
Don't think there will be microtransactions in this game, Miyazaki has said From have full control over what goes into the game. Plus it has been built from development started to be an offline single player title.
@JohnnyShoulder Yes, it's pretty clear some commenters here have been overreacting. They've probably never played any Activision published game besides Call of Duty and Destiny.
Please tell me about all the so-called microtransactions in Platinum's games, when they partnered up with Activision. :')
And I agree that it looks amazing. It's pretty much what I wanted from the studio.
@Kidfried And it is not like the two companies have not worked together before.
Having played the Soulsborne games on a almost constant loop this past year, the time is probably right for a shake up of the formula.
@LaNooch1978 Nah, I don't think it's ripe for exploitation. There's not enough money to be made. Far from, especially since Sekiro doesn't have multiplayer, has no additional weapons and no RPG-stats system.
Sekiro seems like a pretty barebones game. I think From is experimenting with a more overt narrative, which is fine. I'm interested, but nothing I've seen so far has me dying to get my hands on it (ha! No...? Ok.). In fact, the animations so far have looked kind of janky, worse than Bloodborne certainly, hope they clean it up a bit before launch.
@LaNooch1978 We'll see in time!
@b1ackjack_ps Same man I'm super pumped for this year's Gamescon, probably gonna be awesome.
