E3 2018 and the FIFA World Cup take place in very close proximity to each other this year, and because of that, the Austrian-based company THQ Nordic are snubbing the Los Angeles show floor for the beer gardens of Vienna this time around as they watch the World Cup in Russia from a safe distance.
Because of that, we'll get our next look at the likes of BioMutant, Darksiders III, and Fade to Silence later in the year at Gamescom.
Austria haven't actually made it to this year's World Cup, finishing fourth in their qualifying group, but the country has a whole host of nations around them they could choose to support instead. Maybe even England – we'll need it.
Do you support THQ Nordic in ignoring E3 this year for the probably final episode of the Messi vs Ronaldo showcase? Let us know in the comments below.

Smart decision.
They'll have an intern back in the office watchin E3 just because someone needs to pay attention to the industry while everyone gets hungover over men kicking balls and sleeping with each others wives in an overpaid sport for those who dropped out of school.
Id like his job.
This will be an awesome summer! Croatia will play against Argentina
I'd do the same.
Im rooting for france.mon ami la victoire est 2018 world cup😀.word up son
Egypt will win this comfortably and Mo Salah will win the golden boot with 53 goals. First he'll conquer Rome and Kiev.
Sports!
Did I do that right?
Who could blame them, the World Cup only happens once every four years.
Well bringing such heavy hitters like Darksiders 3, Biomutant and Fade to silence, Im surprised they can even afford a beer let alone take a week off work to watch football.
Nordic is based in Austria, perfect sense. Also, surely they'll be supporting Australia.
@YummyHappyPills Same here, I don't care for sports.
@themcnoisy I doubt they'll lose that much potential sales.
cool story but the truth is more we have nothing ready for prime time yet
PRAISE BE TO SPORTSBALL. MAY MY TEAM DO MANY GOALS AND NEVER OFFSIDE A CORNER.
