Classic arcade shoot-‘em-up Ikaruga looks poised to make its PlayStation debut, as the title has been rated for release on the PlayStation 4 in Germany. This will mark the first time that the polarity-switching scroller has released on a Sony system, which is quite surprising when you stop and think about it. It’s launched on the Dreamcast, GameCube, and Xbox 360 previously.
There’s no word on whether this version will come with any tweaks or enhancements, or even any confirmation of when it will be available. Ratings boards rarely classify titles that aren’t scheduled to deploy at some point, though, so sit tight and hopefully we’ll get an official announcement imminently.

Is it good?
Oh thank god. This is one of the games I have and will buy over and over again, so I can keep playing it on whatever console I own at the time.
It's a piece of art. Learning to play the game is like learning to play an instrument. Once your brain adjusts to the polarity mechanic and all its implications, it's a one of a kind experience.
I’ve got this for my Gamecube. I can’t even get past the first level, I struggle with the light/dark mechanic. I don’t think I’m much good at these types of games!
I think its spiritual predecessor, Radiant Silvergun, looks better. Ikaruga gets lots of praise too though, so will be good for PS4 owners who like this type of game.

Played it on Gamecube and 360, but I just don't have the patience for it.
@wiiware I thinks it's coming in the recently announced Megadrive collection.
One of the very best games on the GameCube and arguably the best game of it's type even to this day. Definite purchase for me when it comes out, oh and the only changes that are permitted are 4K HDR and absolutely nothing else 😁
