Bandai Namco Teases Mysterious New Game Code-Named Projekt #1514

Bandai Namco has released a teaser trailer for something called Projekt #1514. It looks like the game could be set in some sort of post-apocalyptic world, but aside from that, we don't really have anything to go on. Whatever it is, it's being developed by Dimps, a Japanese studio that's mostly know for working on a range of anime-based titles over the years, including the Dragon Ball Z Budokai trilogy and, more recently, Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2.

The publisher's promising that more information will be coming our way soon, but do you have any idea what this project could be? Take your best shot in the comments section below.

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, he's played 'em all — a little too much, some might say.

Dimps also made the lovely Sonic Advance series, Sonic Rush series, and handheld versions of Colours, Generations, and Lost World.

Oh. And Sonic 4.

So lets say this product is met with immediate trepidation from developer alone...

@BLP_Software This is published by Bandai Namco, though, and under them, Dimps has made some great games.

@ShogunRok Yes this is under Bandai Namco.

But that doesnt change the fact its still Dimps. They have an established track record as developers of mixed results.

@BLP_Software As long as it's not a Sonic game I think we'll be okay with Dimps. Maybe.

@ShogunRok If its a new IP entirely then I would like to see how they work on their own initiative. But working with established IP is...spotty.

Their Sonic games ranged from good, to meh, to bad. Their Dragonball titles are generally good but compared to what came before Budokai...that isnt hard!

If the video is anything to go on, it looks like its set in an apocalyptic world but not that far after the event. Could 1514 have a 'meaning' - in the English alphabet - could that be Projekt ON (15th and 14th letters). I am not familiar with Japanese to know if these numbers could be more significant.

It could be some 'Mech warrior' game. The symbol at the end has a 'tribal' look and I wouldn't be surprised if it was some futuristic military shooter and that was the badge to denote their allegiance. I think 'Mech's' as the city-scape just through up memories of old 'mech' games battling through streets of a post apocalyptic cities. The lack of 'life' to me spoke more of 'mechs' rather than of lifeforms battling other lifeforms - although they could still be in 'mechs' I guess...

I could be far off the mark but that short clip just conjured up memories of 'mech' warriors type game to me
