Sign of life

A new application that allows you to play PlayStation Home mini-games on the PlayStation Vita has been spotted in the European PlayStation Store. The free download – discovered by PS Vita Round Up – features playable versions of WipEout 2D, Ice Breaker, and Scribble Shooter. The latter is represented in demo form, but the full version can be purchased via Sony’s storefront. The shmup supports cross-buy, meaning that you only need to pay once in order to unlock the title on both the Vita and in PlayStation Home.

Sadly, we were unable to find the application in the UK version of the PlayStation Store – but we did uncover the product page for Scribble Shooter after some searching. Purchasing the title didn’t prompt a download procedure like normal Vita transactions, leading us to believe that you need the aforementioned application to run the full release. We were able to play the mini-game in PlayStation Home as promised, though.

We’ve contacted Sony for more information about the mysterious download, but we’re not expecting a response until the New Year. In the meantime, we’ve embedded a video of a French person fiddling around with the application in the space below.
